On 29 November 2018, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the role of the German Children and Youth Office (Jugendamt) in cross-border family disputes[1]. The resolution is a response to petitions received by the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament for more than 10 years by non-German parents who complain of systematic discrimination and arbitrary measures taken against them by the German Jugendamt in family disputes with cross-border effects involving children, such as parental responsibility and child custody[2].

In the resolution, the European Parliament drew attention to the huge role played by the Jugendamt in the German family law system. The Office is a party to any family dispute involving children. It not only represents the interests of the child, but also has important discretionary powers - it issues recommendations binding on judges, may adopt interim measures against which the law does not provide for the possibility of appeal, and is responsible for the enforcement of decisions of German courts[

In Australia police arrived at our front door to seize children based on an anonymous statement. The only problem for the police was there were no children to demand. It's that ludicrous. These parents are totally lying. They are hiding something very serious. How can the genitals of a baby get torn simply by sitting on toys or something? What did the doctors say that could’ve caused this injury? Was there any other adult who had access to the baby when parents weren’t around?

First of all this mom looks like a child herself-especially compared to the husband. She may be older but sure doesn't look it and if a baby has that kind of injury, something is wrong and there should be an investigation.

I am just wondering how an infant or a toddler understand why they cannot go home and stay with strangers .. why donesn't the authorities do an in depth investigation before separating the kids.. if the authorities really care about the well being of the kids and mental health is considered a major issue in other countries unlike in India , why don't they see to it .. and if at all the kids are separated from their parents why are they not allowed to check on a 24*7 surveillance

Germany is nt stupidto just keepthe baby. Definately they know what has happened n probably waiting for parents to spill the truth.

Since the baby was with the grandparents n the parents were out so plz the grandparents must be taken on remand. I understand children get hurt unknowingly but private parts thats impossible. Im sure the parents know the truth . Its nt a joke a 7 month baby being injured in her private parts n hving to tke stitches. The grandparents should be severely taken to task.

Thank God the baby is safe. It’s very scary and painful to know about the baby injury. I worked in Women empowerment NGO in India. If I find something like this, I would also definitely complain and In India also officials might have got involved. Parents should fight for their children first. They should know the root cause and take proper legal action . Then they can claim the baby . Thank you to the govt officials/ doctors of Germany who acted fast and saved the baby. Parents should also be sent for counselling for hiding truth. Baby is not a toy, she is LIFE.

Not all parents deserve their children. Children's wellbeing must always come first

This situation could have become a police case in India too. If the child is seriously injured in her private parts the mother can’t overlook it. I hope you get your child back but it’s everyone’s responsibility to become a parent when they have enough maturity as parenthood is a big responsibility
