Dear Anthony. I had done this exercises two years ago and lately, preparing for a role i have had a tough time to connect with the emotional part of the preparation. You mad e me feel those feelings again. For me touch was really powerful and i always cry while doing this exercises but is good because i need to cry for the play i am preparing. Thank you, thank you. I really needed a voice to guide me. I will do it everyday. Thank you very much.

This was terribly enjoyable, I recalled things I had not thought of in years, I was there. Sight was the strongest, then touch. Now I want to go look for pictures of that night to see how accurate my memory was, was not only remembering the party but even getting ready to go to the party. Very cathartic.

I am sorry but this exercise caused me distress instead of relaxation, by the time I opened my eyes, they were wet.
I thought of a memory of my childhood when I was 7 or probably 9, a pleasant memory.
It's around 2 PM or 1 PM in the afternoon, the golden sun rays shining down the kitchen as we have an open area above our kitchen, I can see my mother cooking lunch for our family, I can hear the whistle of the pressure cooker and laughs of my younger brother, when we used to be close, playing together. I can see my father coming home from work, me and my younger brother happy to see him and loudly calling him, "Papa! Papa!" while running into his arms to greet him. I was able to smell his clothes and and I felt at ease but this didn't last long, those words "Papa! Papa!" got stuck and Ii kept hearing them and they transported me into bad memories with my dad, of how he used to abuse me and beat me over things like making cartoons or getting scolded if I scored 18 out of 20 in my tests, while my younger brother, who used to get failed in exams was always loved and cared for, I was scolded over every petty thing, as petty as if i didn't zip my jacket.
When Anthony said, "See your younger self", I could see myself in the mirror combing my hair trying to make a spike hairstyle and my brother and father laughing at it, bullying me saying how stupid I look, then my memory shifted to getting beaten by him with sandals till I pissed my pants and didn't telling mom why I pissed in them. Then it shifted to the days when he was being good to me before the days of his death and how I was wondering "Why is he being nice to me", like I was so confused seeing him being nice to me that I thought it's something bad.
My father died when I was 12 years old, I don't know why I remembered the memory of me hugging him on a sunny afternoon, and when the session came to an end and Anthony said, "let go of your younger self, let go of this memory", my eyes got wet, I didn't want to let it go I don't know why but I could feel my breath breaking before opening my eyes and I didn't feel so good.

Some parts of the memory i went back to were more vivid than others. My sense of visual and touch were the most powerful i felt. I felt joy and happiness in that specific moment in time and everything else in real time did not exist during this exercise. Thank you for posting this video and thank you Mr. Montes for helping me reach relaxation & emotional preparation.

Ok I'm not sure what's wrong with me but I cried when we started doing the relaxation technique. I have a lot of physical pain in my body currently. I did feel a lot of tension release. I almost fell asleep or went in to a trance forgetting what I was doing all together. I enjoyed thinking about the memory and I cried again when I had to say goodbye. I didn't want to say goodbye. I wanted to stay there longer. Right now I'm balling my eyes out even while writing this. It was such a happy memory of my dog, bird and grandparents but now all of them are gone. (Passed away) Maybe it's just that it reminded me how much I miss them but I ended up sad in the end not happy so I'm not sure if I was supposed to bring forth happiness but it had a counter effect because now I'm extremely sad...

This was wonderful experience. I was able to remember many tiny details that I probably forgot, I could see, hear, smell and feel the touch but my strongest one f all was sight. For some reason there were some teary eyes and at the end when saying goodbye to my younger self was a bit hard.

Now for example I am supposed to do a scene which is very sad and emotional, do you suggest to pick such a memory in ones life which was sad and emotional to bring it alive and then enact the scene?

Thank you very much 😊

I wonder if you still read the comments…I have been training on and off with The Method for the last year and I struggle to release tension that is in my gut. The relaxation exercise doesn’t help me with that part. I hold a lot of emotion there and I wonder if you recommend anything to help with that.

During the exercise I struggled to use the senses in the order that you state. I was hearing the scene but still seeing it, but I feel that when you said to see it then I saw it much more clearly. I could still see it in my minds eye when I opened my eyes; the people I was talking to, my hand on my partners leg, the plate on my lap, the taste of the food and smell of the wine. I struggled to feel strongly, but did go from feeling anxious to calmer/more relaxed. On the real occasion I’d had a bad day and then was very shocked by my surprise birthday party. I didn’t feel the shock but felt relief when I sat down to talk with friends.

Thank you, I loved this video and will be coming back to it again and again.

I've really loved this experience. The things I could keep on my mind the most were sounds, smells, and images. But when It was time to say goodbye, I felt nostalgic and started crying. I was not sad, I felt happy for having broght back this situation to my life. Thanks, it's very useful. :)

I saw my loved ones who have passed on. This exercise is really strong!! Thank You for this emotional preparation

This video is very irresponsible. Lee Strasberg had his students practice sense-memory for TWO YEARS before he allowed anyone to do what is being guided here. Mr. Montes, please remove this video. Yes, some are having a wonderful experience but others may possibly not be ready for this and you may be leading them down a very personally dangerous path.

I’ve been struggling to access tears in scenes recently. I’ve been quite “abusive” with my memory recall to force emotion. I’ve dried up emotional wells of fabricated awful events happening to my loved ones to squeeze out tears for the camera. …I chose a happy memory here, and I smiled and laughed in the dark by myself in my room reliving this happy memory. I still know and speak to everyone in that memory….yet, when I was told to “let it go”, the loss I felt is still with me. Hugging friends and loved ones goodbye, and saying goodbye to my past self….I don’t know. I hope this video helps so many others. I’m going to keep working on using this in the future. Thank you so much! ❤
