Cubase Audio Processing Overload (ASIO Guard Spiking) FIXED

ASIO Guard is maxed out and my task manger shows i am using no more than 20% of my PC cpu , I have asked cubase for help and after a long time they have not been able to fix this for me , they said it was a bottle neck .After almost 2 years of this ive given up . Anyone ever had this problem and been able to fix it.

This does not made any difference, all still the same and I have tryed every settin, tips and tricks and nothing. Never had any issues with cubase befores and I've been using it since Cubase 5!

So… I went to my device manager in Windows 11 and disabled the “High Precision Event Timer” in the System Devices tab…
this truely seems to have fixed ALL of my studders/sample rate clicks/ and poop like that…

so I don't have that option (Activate Steinberg Audio Power Scheme) - I get the pops and cracks when I create an empty project only. When I add a VST instrument (like a Kontakt piano or something) to an empty project, playing it has terrible audio quality. However, if I create a project based on a template (RNB, Rock, etc.) and add a VST instrument - no issues at all. There must be a studio setting in the templates that the blank project is missing. I gave up trying to fix it and just use the templates each time.

I have the other problem , I can’t hear good enough the vocals I rec , as the peak is too low 🥺 don’t know what to do

It did not work for me, when I clicked on apply it went down but came up again in a minute. Any other way to fix this issue? I have pretty fast computer and was not having any issues suddenly today the project I was working on would not load so I started cubase in safe mode and ticked the disable program preferences but after that the performance have been slow. Any thoughts why it is happening.

I am writing a song using Cubase AI Elements 11 and keep getting the coloured spinning disc when I do just about anything now. This fix isn't available on the lite version. Any ideas?

You forgot to tell us if that was on a laptop or desktop PC? That is crucial. So was it a laptop? And if so, was it only on battery or plugged in?
