I have a large (2500 sq.ft.) garden and I quite like my Earthway seeder. Comparing the Earthway to the Jang is like comparing apples and oranges. The Jang is more machine, but at about $500 vs. $120 for the Earthway, it should be!
The Jang is perhaps a great investment for a market garden but not so much for the home garden.
you can't adjsut seed depth with the JAng !
ОтветитьOver priced and over rated
ОтветитьHonestly i priced some of those seeders and for the same price i can get a gas powered one. Does the same thing with less wear and tear on my body. And no i am not worried about the climate. I will take gas powered over manual any day. If the big guys are so worried about the weather then they to ground their planes.
ОтветитьLooks like people have made 3D printable roller models for anyone with access to a 3D printer. Thinking about picking up a Jang.
ОтветитьGreat planter! Like! 👍 I also made myself a corn seeder, but with a disc seeding unit. You can see her work on my channel. I really appreciate your opinion about her.
ОтветитьDo you use pelleted seed?
ОтветитьThose are sprockets not gears. Gears mesh. It’s chain driven not gear driven
ОтветитьI have the earth way and I hate it with a passion. It’s not smooth and seeds pop out all over the place. It’s an expensive piece of crap. I wish I would have saved up and bought a Jang. Oh well. The Jang will be my next seeder.
ОтветитьHey Josh, apreciate your work very much!
Which roller do you use for onions? And do you need to thin carrtots with the XY-24? Thank you
Please what is your phone number? Do you have seeder for sale?
ОтветитьHave you compared the Jang TD-1 to the JP-1? What reasons would you pay more for the TD-1. It claims less seed waste and thinning.
ОтветитьI want to plant mustard seeds, at 26 inches, (two seeds one drop). Will Jang seeder help?
Ответить😂you really don't like the earthway...literally tossed it out of the way
ОтветитьThank you so much for the comparison and information!
ОтветитьThis is what I have been looking for! Looking at the different vendors, it hard to see what comes in the box. Are the rollers all sold separately, or do you get at least a couple in the box?
ОтветитьDoes the Jang cover up the seeds properly or do you have to go back with the back of a light rake, etc?
ОтветитьThe thing is I bought one B1000 and I planted Asian corn seeds but they looked like smaller seed sizes than sweets corns,so it made them drop double every move...
How can I solve that problem? Big holes but smaller seeds..
As others have said, why so little about the Earthway? Farming is pretty brutal with the low profit and these decisions about expensive tools can become pretty stressful. Wish you had done a review on the Earthway even half of what you did on the Jang. As we know, most beginning farmers start with the Earthway of necessity though of course we all would prefer the Jang.
ОтветитьWas really thinking of making a 3d printed open source roller seeder like this.
ОтветитьI use the Earthway and the Hoss seeders. The Earthway is setup to be used behind one of the garden tractors. It is used mainly for the larger seeds, I.e., peas ,beans , corn, etc. Was not quite satisfied using it with small seeds, so bought the Hoss for that. At this point it is still a push model, one of these days will build the framework to put it behind the garden tractor too. With the Earthway have found it works best if tilted slightly to the right as you are planting. (think the hitch gives it a five degree tilt) as a side note all my small seeds are pelleted.
Am a much smaller grower than yourself. Biggest selling item for me is beets.
Keep putting out the great information you do.
So basically a Jang video. Thought you'd show some side-by-side germination/spacing comparisons. But you just tossed earthway aside at the beginning lol
ОтветитьWhich Jang wheel have you found that does the best for beets?
ОтветитьIs there a seeder for doing pumpkins?
ОтветитьGreat Video as always! Looking to buy one of these seeders, Very informative. Thanks!
ОтветитьFor the cost, wouldn't the Hoss be a better value?
ОтветитьDid you spend 2 seconds on the Earthway?
ОтветитьI didn't see any Cedars in this video
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьDoes somebody knows a seeder which is bigger and can do multiple rows or a entirely bed ?
ОтветитьJang vs. Earthway? Earthway makes appearance, never used to compare?
ОтветитьHow does the Jang do with fine seeds like carrots and lettuce verses the Earthway?
ОтветитьLove watching your videos Josh! I have been looking at seeders in Aus and there seems to be a lot more multi instead of single point. What is the main reason you use a single if multi?
ОтветитьYou’re the best, thanks 😃
ОтветитьI am using the earthway. It seems to work fine with the larger seeds such as beets and corn. I am struggling with the finer seeds. If the hopper only has one package, for example, carrots, the disc has a hard time picking them up. Also, my lettuce and carrots do not come up! Do you have any advice?
ОтветитьHow discriptive are the instructions
ОтветитьNo side marker to mark the next row.... Like the Earthway..? That's a MUST for me... I do sweetcorn, marker keeps me at the right width for my Troybilt tiller to go between the rows later for cultivating and hilling... $500 with a few rollers is a bit much.. I do consider it the Cadillac, but I'm a Chevy Guy..... just saying.. Nice Video tho dude..!
Ответитьtoo expensive and too damn confusing. This sounds ridiculous, seeding should be simple... for years farmers have just thrown seed and it works perfectly.. thanks or giving props to Earthway..
Ответить"9 rows, it always works out even for me."
Odd.
Such a cool demo vid thanks for sharing 👍💖😊
ОтветитьTwice that price the earthway in UK
ОтветитьMy Jang is coming this week! Stoked, gonna help me loads this season
ОтветитьWhat's your thoughts on minimum bed length to make thé Jane viable?
ОтветитьGreat review. Solid and to the point. Thank you as I have been looking at the Jang.
ОтветитьBuddy, you crack me up with your corrections. My wife just turned me on to your videos and she was spot on! They are informative, packed full of education and fun! I am just getting ready to start what you are doing, so keep the videos coming and I will keep liking and sharing!
Ответитьvery cool i have been doing lots of transplant lately, the rocket i just trow on the soil and hope for the best so far have had great spacing... but i will save up money to buy the good seeder from the beginning
ОтветитьGreat video...don’t happen to have a coupon code? ... cuz I really want to buy it but I will have to save money...
ОтветитьWow that saves you a lot of time and effort!
ОтветитьIt's so very cool I was wondering how you got everything so perfect the seeder really is amazing
ОтветитьAwesome vid man! I was bent on the jp 5 but after seeing this. 1 is good enough, for now.
