CRT is about teaching the past so we can better understand the present, that's one of the main reasons why history is taught to begin with. We need to talk about and teach racism thoroughly and in a way that illustrates how African-Americans became in the state they are in society, socially and economically. That's all CRT proponents want to accomplish. Any narrative of hating white people or blaming them for racist institutions in America is not the intention of CRT advocates nor does CRT support that.

This guy supposedly has two degrees and is not aware that CRT is an advanced post grad university law course and never has and never will be taught at an undergrad, high school or grade school level? Critical Race Theory being taught to kids is comparable to teaching advanced calculus to babies in pre-k. You all are being lied to. How even he doesn't know what CRT is. I took the single CRT class offered at my college of 50,000, only 20 people in the class. And none of it was about hating white people.

It's admirable that he worked so hard to get where he is, but he overcame obstacles that we should work towards getting rid of so our future children won't have to deal with them. Critical race theory says that black people are systemically oppressed, which they are. This man is systemically oppressed and he overcame the oppression which is amazing and shows his hard work. However, why shouldn't we work towards getting rid of systemic oppression still? Understanding the present is impossible without understanding the past, and many anti-CRT people want us to ignore the very real systemic oppression that happened in the past and carries on today.

Great speech....except, that's NOT what Critical Race Theory is. CRT says the racism is a construct AND NOT inherent to individuals. If people would simply bother to do research instead of being immediately offended and on the defensive, we'd be a lot better off. And simply because you say something passionately, doesn't mean you're correct.
