Blasphemous How to do Lantern Jump

I just beat the game yesterday but dong this shit was annoying. the whole time i was thinking i'm gonna get double jump. nope this is how you double jump. and it pissed me off so much. it defies all logic and physics but that's how you do it.

In the version I played the starting tutorial tells you how to do it. What it doesnt say is that you dont have to press dash every time so its easier to hold dash and slash at the target. Really easy. Indispensible for killing flying enenmies.

This was not fully explained or excuted well in the game as well as many items. I couldn't get 100% because of it, so the game gets an 8 out of 10

Everytime i hold down though he keeps doing that sword drop attack i get soo close but then it makes that attack happened im horrible at this part lol

I fucken knew it. Im about 70% finished and still havent come across a double jump. Keep wondering if i should invest time into attempting these stunts or wait for the non-existant double jump. Now i can stop wondering, it was getting frustrating lol.

Omg I thought there was some relic for using those..

It doesn't work ALL the time, but if you find yourself in a similar situation and the lantern jump doesn't work, you can try this:
jump + Bleeding Miracle (the ability that shoots blood)
It works kinda like a double jump. Again, it doesn't work all the time but most.

I recall one of the tutorials I never understood what it means where it told you to Dash+Hit in mid air. I had no idea what this did and it never came up again until these lanterns were introduced.
What a disaster on a game design level. 💀

I only started playing this game last week and it's absolutely incredible. The storyline and the difficulty is spot on. On par with Castlevania (I even dare to say story wise is much more interesting

FOR ANYONE UNAWARE, if you hold dash while attacking in the air, you don’t have to point down/diagonally to lantern bounce. This has saved my ass in those Blue Door challenges

Why did they add this awkward mechanic in the game? The whole game is not suited for this mechanic.

nothing in this game is what it looks like. I thought there was a double jump, it was invisible platforms, I thought there was a grappling hook, you had to hold down arrow and hit. I mean wtf

I like this mechanic and how it ties in with your dash and Redento toes. For me it's reminiscent of Spanish dance, and being a good dancer requires footwork.

I don't get it I'm doing the same thing but the conehead goof just hits the lamp and falls to the ground or hits both lamps and falls straight down 😠 without a doubt the worst mechanic of the game😤

If you are playing with keyboard I think you have to jump and then press the attack button plus S (down), that's what worked for me. STILL it's fucking difficult, hate it

This move is bullshit esp if you have the downward strike when on earth did they add this

This mechanic is also pretty useful against the Spears of the Cathedra.

I triend it for over 10min, literally impossible :D

I find standing on the lower platform then doing it much easier. Directly go for the second lantern.
