New Tracer gt plus is quite a nice step up with the switchgear, the new screen, adaptive cruise control etc, obviously a further £1.8k but if you use it as a tourer it's 100% worth it, basically a multistrada v4s light for a lot less money. Wider/better screen as well, I'm 180cm and I find it very nice.

ОтветитьI will never get the face TFT out of my mind. The TFT is terrible. Why is it like this?
ОтветитьAll road, wind, helmet and engine noise can easily be eliminated by industrial ear plugs. Its a no brainer, and anyone telling me they hear too much noise is obviously not wearing them which means they will most likely lose hearing acuity over time anyway. Good Job. Wake up a smell the silence laddies. (no one has ever accused a pom of being particularly intelligent, just woke).

ОтветитьTwo things I did to my 2022 T9GT is a Vcyclenut ECM flash and changing the front sprocket from the stock 16 T to a 15 T sprocket. This 6% change in final ratio made it a whole different bike in terms of sprightliness and rpms are only raised by 350 rpm from this change. No difference in mpg is noticeable and the bike tops out in 6th gear now instead of 5th. Also starting fully loaded in 1st is much better with this change. The windshield is crap. But MRA's vario touring screen completely transforms the bike and eliminates that issue.

Stock screen has always been dire on the Tracers, Yamaha seem to be relying on the aftermarket manufacturers to solve the problem and the MRA Vario seems to be the best option, IMO

ОтветитьRode the 2022 and pushed it in the corners…skiddish and unsettling is what I would describe. Great all over bike but the suspension/chassis is suspect. Actual deal breaker for me until that is sorted. In need of a good steering damper.

ОтветитьWell i own the 2018 tracer 900GT and completely agree with the downsides of this machine. The comfort gets horrible after 3 hours and im 176cm so not that tall.

ОтветитьHad the SX, now got the new Tracer. I like both bikes for different reasons, SX looks, Tracer practicality and that engine. 😀 Saying that, I'll probably go back to a Kwak in a few years when the PCP is up.

ОтветитьThanks for the review I did an Iron Butt on a 2019 Tracer 900. Full t rex bars and skid plate,, Kaoko throttle lock. Did very well. I'm no spring chicken anymore and the bike did the job in style. I always wear ear plugs on any bike so the wind noise was not that big an issue. I would recommend the bike for any serious tourer.

ОтветитьDid I actually hear you quote the Tracers weight at 230 kilos with all your "rubbish" in the luggage? AND immediately then comment how THAT is 4 kilos heavier than BMW 1000XR? What I read elsewhere is a wet weight of 213kg vs BMW 1000XR 226kg (I am assuming no luggage0....I am really confused and concerrned about your review....It sounds like you were looking for a bash and resorted to making something up?? Someone else might have put it like this 'Amazingly the Tracer 9 is 13 kg lighter than the MUCH more expensive BMW1000XR"
ОтветитьI love the dash..very clear, don't want a TFT. The menu is easy..I had the crf 1100 with the Tft; and really don(t miss it.The saddle is good for me, the screen need to be replaced.
ОтветитьThe bike is no doubt a nice performer but the display is hideous. Having assymetrical headlights doesn't look right (like my Honda).

Compare it to the BMW XR900, Tiger 900 GT or the Multi 950/V2
Why compare to an XR1000 or a Ninja SX???

ОтветитьI've had my 2021 tracer 9 gt since October. I agree the seat is uncomfortable after a few hrs. As for the screen, I'm 6ft 2", changed the stock screen for the Yamaha touring one and its made a big difference for me. But everyone is different so I'd just say if ur thinking of getting one just get a test ride. It's a hell of a bike for the money. Goes like stink when you want it too. Handles, looks gd, I think!, does 50mpg ish.. only down side is stock exhaust looks rubbish and not many options at present to fix that.

ОтветитьI really like how you mind the windscreen noise! Its often overlooked and riders damage their hearing. The Z1000SX is out of reach for its really flat mounted screen. The Yamaha GT now could rather be compared to the new Honda NT 1100. Have you ridden it and how is the screen? THX!
ОтветитьGreat vid , always amazed me when manufactures list fuel range, I have a 2019 gt and use it mostly back and fore my house in south wales to my partners house in Portsmouth (158 miles) a full tank gets me 3/4 of the way there, I'm also just over 6ft and your right, the noise is pretty intense, in comparison to the 2017 tracer 7, it's louder and I've gone from being able to ride 3 hours non stop to around 1hr45, before the numbness and wind blast forces a Greg's coffee and walk around 😀.

Yeah, and because after 7hrs it is not comftable :D try seating at home on the sofa for 7 hours straight, there is no seating place in the universe that will be comftable after 7 hours straight :D what a joke of a review, the stupidest negatives I have ever heard about motorcycle
