The Knight, though easily the most frustrating, was probably my favorite of the group. Making you "fight" him at melee range to activate his attacks is a really clever way of making it feel like an actual duel.

Kinda weird that the king isn’t based on the “King” chess piece

they are chess peices it took me 1 year to realize

Best part of the DLC

He prepared 3 cannons, give us 3 coins if we beat his own wife. That is personal for sure

little cool detail: the mouse in the middle during the queen fight cheers when u land a hit on her

The queen boss is so stupidly easy, it only took me 2 times to beat her, it just feels kinda weird given the fact that she’s the final boss in the kings leap

fun fact, for each bosses you can actually see their chess piece as a banner or sorts with the queen having hers a bit hidden in the background

Just realize now that The Bishop everytime his head turns pink he says in gribberish way "WALLOP!"

I just realized the mini boss battles have the words "EN GARNDE" in the beginning instead of "WALLOP" in most battles.

Imagine if the King turned on you because you killed the queen (because they are husband and wife) and you had to fight the king himself, using the power of the pawns, the Knight, the Bishop, the rook, and the Queen. That would be a hard boss fight

Chalice is definitely OP for that boss rush. Especially since the brothers can only party when they jump.

I remember being just ANNOYED by the Pawns stage.I was trying about a million times.I kept dying until I FINALLY did it

Noticed some cool references in this fight:

Their death quotes represent their way of moving in the base game:
The Pawns say this: "One by one by one by one, your chance at victory is done!", referencing them only moving at one square.
The Knight says this: "A W for me and an L for you!", referencing their L-shaped move and the famous W and L terms in meme culture.
The Bishop says this: "I've got you beat in every angle!", referencing them only moving diagonally.
The Rook says this: "Beating you was pretty straightforward!", referencing them only moving in a straight line or side to side.
The Queen says this: "Too little, to late, I dare say that's checkmate!", referencing the famous term when winning in chess.

You cannot fight the king, referencing that the King is the weakest piece in chess.

So I was doing wrong with the Knight all this time,
I feel dumb now

Somehow, The Knight is the most hardest boss, and I thought it was the Queen
