Kuina was A Great Character Her character represents being yourself and accepting who you are even if nobody else does love what her character represents

"Trans" has a complete different meaning in japan. Japan is very advanced in this regard. I promise you.... japan would heavily reject that whole letter-people movement. Japan is one of the healthiest societies on planet.... driven by reason only. Even the whole "male who looks like a girl" works totaly different in japanese mindset. Kuina doesnt define herself as "Trans".... and thats great. No one with REAL gender dysphoria would describe themself as "trans". Only Zoomers who beg for attention do that. Being "Trans" is NOT an essential part of her personality. She is a women now.... NOT a "transwomen". And she would be ashamed to tell the truth to someone who isnt about to die or reveals his deepest secret to her. Thats how REAL genderdysphoria works.

People with REAL Genderdysphoria dont want to be "Trans". Theyre ashamed of admit theyre "trans".... they want to be THE OPPOSITE GENDER.... and they want to be seen as the opposite gender and not as a mentally Lunatic. Everyone you ever met and describes itself openly as trans is a faker who begs for attention, nothing else... and yes... those fakers BELIEVE they have gender dysphoria... but they dont... they have alot of other problems who lead them to think they have a problem which they havent.

The funny thing is, I (an agender person) INSTANTLY understood that she was trans and what was happening. However, my brothers, cousins and parents didn’t pick up on it AT ALL. I had to explain it, go back to the scene, and even prove it on Google because everyone said I was pulling at strings. I loved the tiny detail of a trans character while it had NO impact on the story, which was refreshing to see. It didn’t matter that she was trans, nobody made a deal out of it, it was pretty glossed over but clean and heartwarming. I loved this kind of representation, I hope to see more of it in the future.

I all in all wished I could get her here, to Germany somehow. Society is a lot more open and german health-insurances cover the transformation-surgeries and would help with her other health-issues too. In Germany she would have better chances to get back on her feet....

She would deserve better, than a mum who only remembers, she has a child at that point, she needs her help.
She never protected her, when it was her responsibity, didn't stand by her side, when Kuina needed her, but Kuina now stands by her side, even when she doesn't deserve it.

So yes, Kuina is a very good, too good person. Someone who may be used by others too fast. 😔

I have only watched the last 3 episodes but when her mom called her beautiful and her dad called her by her name (I forgot what he said exactly) I did all I could to not cry, since I was watching with family… she is for sure my favorite

I'm also transgender (female-to-male) and I gotta say, Kuina's lines about accepting her past hit me very personally. When you are trans, there is so much pressure to hide your past for fear that it will cause people to invalidate the identity you have fought so hard to achieve. At the same time, how many people could just discard half their life story and replace it with a fiction? It makes you feel like, in order to be true to yourself, you have to lie to everyone else. That history is part of who you are, too. For me, I achieved a level of peace when I accepted that my past was valuable because of everything I learned. I was seeing things about life as a woman that most men don't ever get to see, and when I look at it that way I can be happy I was born this way, even though it was difficult. Seeing Kuina embrace both sides of herself and use that duality to not only survive, but also protect others, gave me goosebumps. It was such a beautiful and powerful scene!

When Kuina's father threw her out because "You're a boy!", I was confused because she's clearly female based on the shape of her body. Maybe her father really wanted a son and was angry that he had a daughter. He taught her to fight well though. The scene where she fought with the sword-wielding scumbag known as Last Boss was the coolest action scene in the whole show and Kuina looked totally hot!

I don’t agree with you about last boss. He wasn’t rejected by society, he was a NEET who refused society compared to Kuina who was cast away. Both bloomed in Borderlands, last boss became this sociopath who could never return to the real world and Kuina embraced her femininity with colorful makeup and bikini (compared to the scene where she saw her mother, she was wearing simple clothing and naturel makeup)

And this is how you make a trans character relatable - not something forced but something and someone human. At the end of the show i didnt even care if she was trans, she fought hard and till death for her team and mother - what anyone sane would do trans or not & this coming from a transwoman myself. Interesting choice to use an actual woman instead of a trans woman to play the role. Show was an overall 9.5/10.
