The United States can no longer blackmail China with Nuclear threats, nor North Korea. The balance has turned, U.S will never attack China unless it wants complete defeat 💯

A superb report, totally unlike today's US reporting which is designed for instant effect rather than deep thought. The huge irony is the fact that mainland China is now a huge Taiwan, albeit with a slightly less authoritarian regime.

In WW2, Chiang Was Wrong To Rebuff
General Stillwell's Good Idea To Get Chiang
And Mao To Fight The Japanese Together,
But Chiang Fought Stilwell, And Sent Stilwell Back To America.
Only China 🇨🇳 Dedicated a Museum In General "Vinegar Joe" Stilwell's Honor For What He Did Fighting Off The Japanese.

One of the greatest mistakes and probably history will show it to be the greatest mistake was the US recognition of the CCP.

Imagine if Chiang didn’t lose China to the communists. Hundreds of thousands of Americans soldiers lives could have been saved from Korean War and Vietnam War. Because Red China sponsored all the communist wars in 20th century

The problem is, the anchor's visit in Communist China was carefully scripted and staged in the most secret manner. His visit in Taiwan was more organic and liberal - even the staged part was announced as such. Communism fundamentally altered Chinese culture in the Mainland, the result would be prominent in the generations born within communism.

The anchor also completely misjudged Chang's "consistency". He came to prominence in Sun Yat-sen's military by supporting the latter's collusion with Chinese Communist Party in the Northern Expedition against the constitutional Beiyang Government of China.

I know the interviewer is trying to be as neutral and objective as possible, but saying Communist China and the Republic of China are alike is laughable. When this was filmed, which is 1971, mainland was literally undergoing the infamous political movement & purging started by no other than dictator Mao himself -- the Cultural Revolution. It caused the death of millions of Chinese in 10 years. Meanwhile in Taiwan on the other hand, is experiencing rapid economic growth under KMT leadership, society is prosperous and people are enjoying a much more stable life than their mainland counterpart. So although Chiang and KMT's rule was authoritarian, people still enjoyed limited civil liberties and the fruits of a capitalist economy. It's absolutely fair to say the Republic of China under President Chiang was doing way better than so-called People's Republic of China under ruthless dictator Mao. Mao killed around 80 million Chinese, which is more than the combination of the people Stalin and Hitler killed, let that sink in.

The democratic China that Chiang Kai-shek hoped for will not be realized. It is difficult for the Chinese to eradicate the servile gene. What they need is an emperor who can be worshipped. Taiwan needs the support of the West to help the Taiwanese break away from Chinese imperialism. If Western countries have negative views on China, I believe it is obvious now that any illusions about political reform will only hurt ourselves in the end.

It astonished me seeing how certain Chiang was that he would reconquer the mainland. That is implausible today. Regardless of whether the current government of Taiwan calls itself the Republic of China or Taiwan, I hope residents of Taiwan will remain free and able to express opinions and choose their political leaders and not fall under the repressive thumb of the CCP as Hong Kong has after the UK gave it to the PRC.

There, this wise man had warned the US right then and there 50 years ago that despite their smiling campaign, the communists will not change. And it took the Americans 50 years to finally come to terms with this reality. The reporter was arrogant and highly biased in his interpretations of something he didn’t fully understand. The sheer murdering of hundreds of millions of Chinese by starvation and persecution in Mao’s regime alone would make equating the two Chinas under different leaderships simply because they still both pretty much look like Chinese laughable. As Chiang put it at the end, loyalty and faithfulness are the principles and trust for friendship, yet in history the US had unfathomably repeatedly betrayed and exploited Chiang’s China in favor of the communists whom the US itself had aimed to eliminate in its own county ?!

My word, this superb piece of television journalism is almost exactly as old as I am ( sigh ). Isn’t it stunning, almost, to hear someone referring to the late 1940s as being some twenty years ago, too ! The slogans on the banners, marvelous ! Here in Japan we definitely need banners slung up demanding that people n o t spit on the pavements, urinate in public in broad daylight, and smoke almost anywhere they please.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Republic of China (ROC) in Taiwan are fundamentally different. The ROC represents authentic Chinese culture and does not hide behind facades. The CCP should never be associated with the ROC Taiwan in the same sentences. Mao won by spy craft and deception, nothing to be proud of

No matter why the International Olympic Committee called the delegation "Chinese Taipei". Very few Olympians come from ROC/TPE. SUMMER: First medalist from ROC/TPE: Yang Chuan-kwang (as Formosa/RCF) (Rome 1960, Athletics, Men's Decathlon, Silver); First female medalist, Chi Cheng (as TWN) (Mexico City 1968, Athletics, Women's 80-Meter Hurdles, Bronze); First Gold Medal: Chen Shih-hsin (Athens 2004, Taekwondo, Women's Flyweight) and Chu Mu-yen (Athens 2004, Taekwondo, Men's Flyweight). Of the 72 total athletes in the WINTER Olympic Games from ROC/TPE, none have earned a medal. They were first delegated at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan. When you spend 8 years defending china from a foreing aggressor just to be betrayed by your fellow countrymen afterwards, makes sense why he never gave up on reclaiming the mainland. It was the Rebuplic of China that sacrificed millions of men to defend china, while the communists waited out the conflict just to strike at a weakened Enemy.
