I progressed on nephelix's quest too far now she's a puppet and i couldn't get that ancient smithing stone...😢

I accidentally killed patches even though I knew i didn't have to kill him, I just didn't know he was so weak that it took me 2 hits to kill him 😅 now i cant get that bullgoat armor but i don't really care that much since i got radahn armor and its pretty good. It's basically carrying me through the game lol😂

whats the point n Soft bein sooooo vague about questlines when every player is going to have reddit open by there side all the time....dont make a lick of sense to force players in that situation....& not having reddit...will cause alot of 1st time run throughs to end a questline by doing something killing certain npc's....its total bs & Soft knows it to....

so if i missed blackguards questline can i not complete dung eaters? i have 3 of the red seeds :(

Killed Rykard & got locked out of EVERYTHING for volcano manor before I had a chance to do anything lol love to see it

I spoke to Irina but didn't go to Castle Morne yet. Edgar still invades and Hyetta still spawns.

I got "calm down" gesture after he kicked me down the mountain, i went back and talked to him, i can confirm that. 100%. Upon speaking with him AFTER he kicks you to seethewater area. Pulley bow is up on that tower btw, one of the best bows, but can't change ash of war on it.. (i like barrage for status effects)
These are THE BEST guides I've found, i ws able to do 100% npcs last playthrough. Now I barely need one, my memory isn't what it used to be though..

Why do have to get punish all the time.. This is bad for the game.. Shouldn't be a thing.. punishing the player for playing their game... I don't mind that there is no Quest log. however there should be when they are locking importen questlines out because you progress... Really bad...

I spent over 100 hours on my first playthrough and still missed 4 Ancient somber stones. Only missed about 8 armor sets.. that's not bad lol there's a LOT. DON'T MISS EVERYTHING IN THE CAPITAL AND BEFORE KILLING DRACONIC SENTINEL... It locks you out.

Can I still do certain quests' (like Nepheli's quest) once I've wrapped up my initial run and started a NG+? I have been only focusing on leveling up n killing bosses, and so far, I have not been paying attention to what they are saying and have killed NPCs that I probably shouldn't have killed..

Thanks for posting this and thank you for all the work you do re: Elden Ring. Does being transported to Leyndell, Royal Capital, through the Tower of Return transporter trap chest, interfere with any other questlines? I opened the chest but fortunately jumped back avoiding the trap. I am currently about to activate the Festival of Radahn.

You have to buy something from the guy that is stomping on Godrick, it took me forever to stumble into. I said stumbled because I gave up already and was just buying something that I wanted from him. He won’t move into the throne room, thus negating Nephelia’s quest as well

I beat the fire giant before church of repose and was still able to get the rivers of blood. I did not burn the tree yet tho.

The quest system is an absolute mess in this game, people saying it's not supposed to be easy are missing the point, it's not about it being hard, it's just a mess that just causes lots of wasted time and plenty of reading, also it's supposed to be an open world game but if you explore too much you miss steps in quests,. For an open world game they need a new quests system, it's fine in a linear game but doesn't work in such a massive world.

Actually... the HARDEST thing about Souls series was never the combat, but rather not missing the questlines and NPC-associated items. This always scared me the most: to do something that would cut a quest short, denying myself further interactions and unique assets. Simply entering a level, skipping a summon, not talking enough or giving a wrong answer can ruin such things for the whole playthrough, locking the player out of content.

It is so dumb that you can miss things just because you're unaware of them. Elden Ring is an amazing game, but the faults it has are pretty steep ones. As far as I know, there is no indication that you should return to the Church of Elleh, at night, and wait for Ranni the Witch to appear, thus granting you the Spirit Caller's Bell, or whatever it's called. This is a pretty important item, particularly for new players, so the fact you can 'miss' getting it is pretty shitty. In a game as large as Elden Ring, the worst thing to have happen is having to start a new game because you did something too early/too late, killed someone you shouldn't have/didn't kill someone you should have, etc. I mean how on earth are you supposed to figure these things out, there's no cohesiveness to these quests, not that I can see. Any quests I've done in my playthrough have been through coincidence only. I could go on with my gripes about the game, but then this would turn into a novel.

The Volcano manor has too many branching quest lines where you’re walking on eggshells. I missed patches and the girl completely

What is the armor set you wearing?

Not sure about everyone else but I’d probably skip most of the sidequests (except Yura coz of Nagakiba). Ever since I played BotW and said “I’ll never search for any sidequest on any open world” I’ve yet to find people who’ll live in Tarry town. I think the same applies to ER.. I’ve just finished Stormveil castle (and really enjoyed it!) but I saw a video saying I may have missed a sidequest because I didnt talk to the NPC before killing Godrick.. that really killed the mood for me.

Patches got aggressive on me and I thought I accidentally did this and I thought I had to kill him so mad 😡

I miss out the whole Volcano questline cuz I usually want to kill the lord in the area before I try to cleanup quests..
Sigh ... Elder Ring make the questline misssibility on a whole new level compare to all the previous entries..

So I gave the puppet potion to Dung Eater, did I lock myself out of getting his gear?

This game really needed a quest log, it is way too big and convoluted to try and do what the previous more linear ones did with their quests even following guides it screws up, i never got ranni to appear and had to do a ton of things and fixes so that i could get her to appear in her rise, volcano mannor bugged out too cuz the serpent girl despawned before i could get to progress with her, so i just finished the 3rd letter

why does any of this really matter when other plays can just drop you all these items you missed?

I personally think the reason why the quests are all a bit archaic is because they’re not designed to be 100 percented. Rather I think developers want everyone to have their own unique experience and outcomes based on who they come across and what decisions they make. Serves the game experience actually very well but not good for the ocd folk who must 100 percent the game!

You don’t have to 100% it unless you want 100% lol I know that sounds obvious. But don’t stress over getting a missable spell if you are strength building

i killed the sorcery teacher, and later she re-appeared and i was able to finish the wolfmans quest to find the underground city...ohhh fromsoft
