I watched it. Amazing movie but not satisfying at all. Was the war ship on sea for decoration?

I have seen similar movies and i was led to believe that a war ship can actually do a little bit of assistance.

Like they could pinpoint a rebel group station and raze it. Especially when the rescue team got laid with so many civilian when they were coming back.

That war ship was just there for decoration.
