Ok Marshall, it’s been two years, I know, but just found your video and need to know… did Clint succeed in reassembling the watch? Or did he have a stroke when he saw you tearing it apart and is now dearly departed? 😊
ОтветитьHa ha ha crazy
ОтветитьI wonder how Clint got on.
ОтветитьIv been wathing you for a while now and iv got a niggle thats been buggin me for weeks, and that is the tape you use its called capton tape could you use its proper name when using it please
ОтветитьYou are a class act.
Ответитьthe part - with the two arms for the rotorwheels... i had bitter experience with a orient automatic... waits till today for fixing....
Ответитьthis was a really awsome job... and at the end a little bit sadistic.... but... now you are ready for this.... CITIZEN 8110 CHRONOGRAPH BULLHEAD PANDA DIAL .... same kind of produce cheap and rational - only much more precise... this can drive one really crazy... (it must not be bullhead - this means only the form of the pushbuttons... most of them today in very poor conditions... rare - and if working... often a desaster... for sure, you can do the job...)
ОтветитьDid you check the timing on the watch before you took it apart? 💖🌞🌵😷
ОтветитьI'd like to say thank you. Several years ago, I purchased my first automatic watch. It was an Ingersoll and it was through an online watch site. I received it and there seemed to be an issue immediately. After I received it back, I could never seem to get it working for any length of time. Just by watching you do what you do, I decided to give it another shot and I actually seem to have gotten it working. Yes, it was user error... it seems... but I hopefully will be able to wear this watch assuming my own lack of knowledge actually is the cause. Your videos are always very interesting and thank you again for sparking my interest in watches.
ОтветитьHa ha ha ha 😂
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьWhat a great way to mentor us newbies along on our watchmaking journey. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьThat was a twist at the end!! Good teacher!!!
ОтветитьWhat a brilliant video.
ОтветитьOuch ... Thats both painfull and wholesome at the same time😂
Ответитьsure fire sign of quality, plastic wheels lol
ОтветитьAmazing how you solve the puzzle. CONGRATULATIONS
Ответитьawesome.
ОтветитьYou should have given him the complete watch my friend,he sent it to you because he was not able to assemble it.
ОтветитьI’m an auto tech. When I am helping a student/apprentice, a lot of times i’ll either let them try and see if they cam fix something or I’ll show them then take it apart so they can try.
Fine work!
Oh my god, girlfriend and I are high and DYING. poor Clint got drageddddd. it’s so funny. “Not only is it cheap now, but it was cheap then”.
ОтветитьThat was the coolest thing you have don’t. What a great teaching video. Even at some points I want to take a hammer to it but your patients got though this.
ОтветитьGreat video! Really interesting and goes to show that a cheaper movement isn't easy to work on 🙂
ОтветитьThis is my favorite WR Video. Sherlock Holmes given a pile of parts of a watch he has never seen, and he assembles it! And it runs! What an amazing skill set.
Ответить😂 hilarious 😂 did not expect the end 😂
Well played, great video!
By far the best yet!. To hear thought processes and your frustration tells us more about this subject than watching the perfect tear down/rebuild.
ОтветитьDon’t do meth.
ОтветитьI’m beyond impressed!!!
ОтветитьIf I tried to work with such tiny pieces I would sneeze and they would all disapear
ОтветитьBest video on your channel! Love it!
Clint got into the hobby watching you. Now you are his teacher… what an honor.
As you have said, many times, it’s all about learning, and doing it for yourself. Fact: You never learn if someone else just does it for you. When you started taking it back apart… like everyone else watching - I just couldn’t stop smiling, and giggling. Loved every second of it.
Finally —> You have always talked about how one of the biggest parts of this hobby are the watches themselves and their stories. Now Clint may have a “cheap” watch, but… it’s a watch with an AMAZING STORY!!! Even has video proof / provenance / and authenticity for it. A pile of parts, confusion, frustration, giving up, and failure - has now surely become a prized and priceless possession. Well… provided that Clint was able to get it back together.
Please - Please - Please update us on whether or not he was able to get it back together. Thanks. —> Clint… I’m rooting for you!!! CHEERS!
What a brilliant instruction video. I spent two hours this afternoon, on a pocket watch, looking for the piece that stops the mainspring barrel from unwinding. There was a circular spring underneath, and when I unscrewed it, it went flying across the room ! I got two sticks with magnets on and carefully swept the room. No luck. I then spotted the tiny plate and looked for the spring. After an hour, I gave up. As I was clearing the dust and bits of general rubbish, there it was ! I have repaired two mantle clocks, one of 6 travel alarm clocks, and I have 5 pocket watches to put back together. I also have a few wristwatches. Videos like this are great, and Marshall is excellent at what he does. I said I would take up watch repairs when I retired in 2019, and I am 74 now so the eyesight is not great. Maybe I will buy a Braille watch to fix😊. I have a little bit more confidence now. Thank you.
Ответитьwowwwwww the twist ending. didnt expect that, your vids are awesome
ОтветитьNice one mate! 👍👍👍
ОтветитьI didnt expect to be kicked in the nuts by a watch repair video. that ending.. LOL
ОтветитьI do love your attitude. Great content, been watching your videos for quite a while now, and just subscribed.
ОтветитьGoo day, would you be interested in building a modified watch?
ОтветитьThere are a lot of decent movements on ebay that came out of cases that were melted for the metals. They won't list it as such, but you can spot them. These are cheap and great for practicing.
ОтветитьBEYOND Bad-ass! Hah! Thank you for doing this.
Ответитьjust Woww
ОтветитьHey Marshall
I‘m currently working (or at least trying to 😅) on a Omega 1900 Poketwatch. I got a donor movement and was wondering if you can swap hole balances from one to another movement?
I think I heard that some parts (like the escapement lever) are not interchangeable because they are adjusted specifically for that other part. It would probably be cheaper to swap it since my balance broke during my rather unexperienced regulating.
Keep up the good work!
I don’t know why I like watching this… but I can’t stop
ОтветитьYes, I should have expected that. While watching the video, I was wondering why you weren't cleaning or lubricating anything. Well done! I personally stay away from anything far eastern.
ОтветитьI was surprised you didn't apply any oil or grease like you typically do, or maybe that was Clint's job to do, now that he has this tutorial to watch and do a final assembly himself? Very cool video and reminiscent of the Micky watch video. I'm always in awe with the difficulties these cheaper watches inherently have, and the patience to get through the re-assembly.
ОтветитьBetween a timex and a regular watch? Is the timex that bad one of those two? They tell the time, what more do you want‽ I'm not a watch guy, but my grandad trusted them and I can't abide by this timex hate! It's no Rolex or Hamilton, but it gets used more often and a watch that doesn't get used is just extra clutter
ОтветитьSears watches were manufactured by Elgin. If you need spare parts, you can usually find the equivalent 7-jewel Elgin movement easier than the Sears.
ОтветитьI’m imagining a scenario where a viewer trolls you by sending in a “convincing assortment” of watch parts that actually don’t go together at all 😅 the unsolvable puzzle.
Great video! Really enjoyed the ending. Didn’t see that coming.
