This is a great advertisement for that Husky box. $80 and I can cary that second box handle in the same hand. Or still save money and slap on some mounting plates in the direction you want.

It goes that direction so it doesnt fall off while pulling the box in case someone doesn't lock it in properly or just leaves it on top forgot to lock it in

It locks that way in case you pick it up and your boxes are not fully latched they won’t fall off.

The husky tote is a fraction of the price and it fits more. That’s why not a lot of people are buying it

the double packout probably wasnt mean to be used ALL the time. I bought one to keep job site material and trash all contained in one box then go back to the shop the next day and go through it all while still being able to stack organizers that need stocked on top of that.

why it doesnt attached the boxes in opposite direction? simple bc of GRAVITY... all the weight will be pending in a little piece of lock plastic

I feel that they wanted the packouts to face opposite direction but ran the risk of damaging the detent when tilting it. If anything they should have tried to size it where they sit side by side instead

the last topic is the main issue.

Because it doesn't have a door to access tools , you gotta dig everything off the top of it to get down to your tools .

I have a kobalt box like that from Lowes, the square goes in the lid on mine.

My question is how do you carry that trailer into the truck?

I put the framing square, speed square, levels and combination square in the lid of the PACKOUT 38 in. Rolling Modular Tool Chest

I have the big one and i love it . I use it as a quick road service box I can keep in my pickup for light heavy equipment and truck repairs I got mine for 199.00

I put a Packout plate on my Husky box and it works better than the Packout big box.

I think people prefer being able to load it up with tools and being able to move it in and out of the car without having to unpack it without needing a second person or risking a back injury.

I'd laugh at you at the job site if I saw these ridiculous boxes on the job site.

I got the big rolling tote with the large box on a home depot deal for 229 last month. Fits the back of my subaru perfectly and holds any tool you have

I use the mud n more mixball spachula, but now I just mix in quart/2qt containers and throw out when I’m done. they’re .23 cents a piece it’s worth saving the clean up time 🔑
