new macbook pro doesn't need reference monitor
ОтветитьCan this be done in Premiere Pro?
ОтветитьMy eyes 😵💫
ОтветитьWhat if I use the display of one of the newer MacBook Pros that supports HDR?
ОтветитьHey, glad you mentioned VIRTUAL JAPAN's channel cause i would like to ask you something about his footage. I know he records with a Sony A7S3 and isuppose he uses other picture profile than HLG for his HDR videos, right? Do you know what profile he uses, S Log3 or maybe externally recording in ProRes raw?
Also how do you think he focuses his footage? Sets his lense to infinite focus? All of his footage is in focus, be it very close when someone passes by or be it far away in the background, he dosent uses auto focus right? But if he uses infinite that would not make very close objects/faces to be out of focus? And what about aperture in his night videos? He says in the description that he uses a Sony 20mm F1.8 G lense, do you think he uses 1.8 aperture? His night videos are so clear, no noise can be seen!! Does he denoise the image or can the Sony A7S3 with a good lense to record at night without any noose?
Thanks in advance for your info and time!
Salut, Quelle logiciel tu utilise ?
ОтветитьHDR processing for an hour HLG/PQ in April 2023 still take days, even up to a week.
Ответитьso couldn’t you just use a LG 4k/8kHDR television to color instead of buying the monitor? that thang is pricey!
ОтветитьAwesomeo bro! the exact video I needed. Thank you!
ОтветитьWhat are the specifications of the computer you used to edit the HDR video? please answer me sir .. thank you
ОтветитьWhy would a camera record HDR when RAW and LOG are already far beyond what displays can display. Its purely a consumer electronics marketing hype play and finishing/export workflow. The screen is the only difference. The screen can just scale the dynamic range those small values and you have HDR. If it was a HUGE nit difference in dynamic range, (which I wish it was, but it is not), it is plausible you could see banding or a mismapping of gamma ratios if the file being played is not one with enough bit depth/ color sampling or graded in HDR. As far as cameras that “shoot HDR”. Total marketing bullshit.
ОтветитьWhy would you need an additional I/O box to bypass the GPU to output HDR? The Atomos Ninja V+ monitor I use as a control screen for HDR grading seems to be working fine?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing. Applying your way only allows to grade in 1,000 nits (according to waveform) & export to max 1,000 nits video? And the clip won't be dynamically spread into e.g. 4,000 nits under 4,000-nit-capable monitor? If my concern is true, could you advise how to address that? Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat Video Jason! is it possible to edit HDR video directly on the new 14" & 16" macbook pros? if so then a video would be awesome!
ОтветитьGreat at explaining what's all needed, concisely.
ОтветитьThanks for this super useful video!
Is there a way I can use JPG files on a HDR time line? Do I have to convert my images to something else than JPG first? Didn’t find any info about this yet :/
This is a really good video, Jason. I've subscribed. By the way, you can get away without a decklink card or the BlackmagicUltra 4K mini device you mention. If you have Thunderbolt 3 and in Resolve if you go to workspace/Video Clean Feed and then select your ASUS monitor, it will feed directly from Resolve to the monitor. For people just experimenting in HDR...this provides an inexpensive solution to start looking at shots. I do own the ASUS ProArt monitor and love it.
ОтветитьNo HDR with davinci resolve and win11 right?
you need an mac to activate HDR10 mode or?
I'm seeing a lot of skipped frames in your B-roll. Was this shot at 24fps with a 60pfs shutter speed? Also, the image is overall quite bright to my eyes and doesn't seem natural. The untreated footage that you showed at the start looks better IMHO.
Does anyone else feel the same? I shoot with Panasonic micro 4\3rds cameras at 30fps with a 60fps shutter speed in HGL HDR 10 bit @150Mbps and barely need to adjust the footage aside from tightening dark and light levels, so I may be extremely biased to what I know from Panasonic (and at a basic level, Sony's camera systems).
Could it be done if footage is SLog-3?
ОтветитьJason, so what frame rate do you shoot the video at? Is it 4K 30p?
ОтветитьSince the new M1 MacBook pros have HDR displays, do you know if they're capable of grading HDR videos, or will you still need one of the Black Magic boxes and an external HDR monitor?
ОтветитьSince the HLG is not recommended for the a6400 because of the 8-bit (also heard that about S-log 2 & 3), what profile picture do you recommend for the a6400 when need that dynamic range?
ОтветитьBro. I think there is small error made in editing this video, black should be black and white should be white, the error i think you increased shadow control too high...
ОтветитьI like this guy
ОтветитьLost me at $900
ОтветитьPlz, do a video HDR
with slog3
🔥👏
ОтветитьSo basically $4K just in monitor and recorder...
On top of a capable machine.
I wanted to get into the HDR world but it's too expensive.
how you say your graphics card cant correctly output HDR. Are you referring to your workstation machine in the video as that iMac? or is that not relevant to guys like me who like to use their gaming PCs with RTX 3080s for their editing rigs? Or is this a topic youre not totally versed on?
ОтветитьHi Jason,
I’ve just purchased a new 14’ MacBook pro and was wondering if I can edit HDR video off that and not need the external monitor?
It’s all so confusing 😅
WHY do people STILL shoot in 24 fps and THEN use it for ONLINE content that is predominantly displayed on 60hz monitors. 24 is a TERI-BAD frame rate for the era of online content. Just a grand case of "follow the leader". sad.
ОтветитьViewing this on the new 12.9in M1 iPad pro, it’s amazing how some parts of the video have bright screens that just shines!
ОтветитьFinal cut pro how
Ответитьjesus christe, i saw better exposure levels and coloring in 8 bit... and i mean 8bit NES graphic...
What the hell just happend? without HDR Your video is just a white blob, and with HDR is over exposure as f!
i really hate watching with hdr, because thats too bright
ОтветитьWondering if the M1 Max MacBook Pro will simplify that HDR workflow
Ответитьi use Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium which is Have 4K HDR Display.. . so Beautiful video quality.. .
Ответитьdo a video on the new Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN lens
ОтветитьLove this jason, never really dive into HLG, but definitely keen to give it a go
ОтветитьVery beautiful and very amazing
ОтветитьWith A6100 you cant
ОтветитьA6100 has no PP support. Title fail.
Ответитьwhy cannot you just use a tv as monitor?
Ответить
