Helena always puts her heart in all her movies! I love her

The way the beggar woman appears only after Anthony sees Johanna and has no interaction with Sweeney right until the ending makes you think Burton dropped the whole plot with her being Lucy and gives you false hope that Sweeney and Lovett might end up together.

Loved this film, but HATED that they removed the title line from this song. Seriously? What was wrong with having the customers chant "God, that's GOOD" a couple times to keep the song true to the original? It was my favorite piece in the play, and Burton RUINED it!

Toby's actor is really good, mainly for the reason that he acts just like boys would have in Victorian England. Boys tended to act more like men compared to today.

Gotta love how everyone suddenly looks all nice and proper, the moment they start selling meat pies.

WHy is Tim Burtons characters always looked like a zombie?

Honestly, this was a weak scene, and a lot of it was lost with the chorus of ravenous customers. They should be shouting and demanding things from both Lovett and Toby, pulling their attention every which way. Instead the customers are politely murmuring to their friends while Lovett has nothing to do but walk absent-mindedly around tables singing to herself (though working in a restaurant, I don't blame her).

Edit. I can't deny that the acting here is great, from Depp, Carter, and young Saunders. Sondheim has his seal of approval all over this movie, so I shouldn't complain (but God, it could've been better)

Helena is such a legend at playing the bad woman in movies but in real life she is the sweetest person ever❤️
