shoehorns makes shoes last longer-quite eazy, , lazy for a cashier to sit down? no-it's just common sence..why stand and work when you can sit? it's just stupid - no swedes dont love ques, most of us hates them, waiting is time other steal from our life
ОтветитьWell, if you never take your shoes off… Savages.
ОтветитьOf courses it’s controversial for an American. You don’t take your shoes off when you go inside your own damn home… shoe horns aren’t only for old or disabled people🙄 Jeeze the ignorance and arrogance. Here in Norway most people have one and everyone knows if you want to not ruin your shoes you use a shoehorn. And with certain shoes especially without laces you have to. Can’t stand Americans🤡
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьMaybe you can go home too us
ОтветитьAre you stupid
ОтветитьYou've obviously never heard of the Swedish weatherman John Pohlman - he had his own fanclub!
ОтветитьI do not think any of theese seven points are uniquely Swedish. I think they are applicable to many countries in Europe.
ОтветитьI’m from America I did not know the shoehorn was Swedish I thought it was just an old person thing my grandparents use them all the time and they’re black and not from Sweden lol
Ответитьlol Shoehorn has not been invented in US yet or? 🙂
ОтветитьWhat's special about shoe horns? Don't they have them in the US?
ОтветитьBro without the shoe horn you will ruin the heel tab/notch on your shoes. Unless you want to untie, put on, then tie your shoe each time. Note we don't wear shoes inside. So I put on my shoes about 3 times a day.
ОтветитьLOL, I just can't believe how triggered many US traveltubers get by something as innocuous as a fucking shoehorn.
Like: "I travelled the world deep and wide, across all continents and climes. I saw war, pestilence and men crushing the skulls of infants (really, I did), but the worst I ever saw was the SHOEHORN!"
New sub! Why have you stopped posting?? This is an interesting channel!❤
ОтветитьWorking positions and healthy working is a big part in Sweden and non-existant in the US.
ОтветитьMost cashier have a "swivel chair" that can be moved, if they prefer to stand as a alternation.
ОтветитьSo he like killing his fingers
ОтветитьAs a Swede, I can agree on the shoehorn thing. It's not necessary by any means. There are benefits like helping to preserve your shoes to last longer, as well as some level of ergonomics with the longer ones, but I practically only use shoehorns when I'm having particular trouble getting into some shoe of mine.
ОтветитьDude, I’m black I was raised by my grandparents. My grandparents taught us to put on shoes with Horn how crazy
ОтветитьThere is no boring weather in Sweden.
ОтветитьHow do you not damage your shoes* if you never use a shoe horn?! (*Shoes = actual leather shoes in a size that fits well, not trainers) There is no way I could get any of my Crockett's, Carminas or Church's on without a horn. Oh yeah, I have to use one for my nike trainers as well.
ОтветитьI suprised you didn't bring up that we don't wear shoes inside of people's homes. Because that is one thing i find super weird about Americans. I honestly never understood how it works to wear shoes inside the home. I mean it must be depending on weather right? Because if its raining or snowing you at least take the shoes of i hope. But i still really don't understand how it works without becoming super dirty and disgusting inside.
ОтветитьI live in sweden and everything in this video is BULLSHIT! Just a typical ''american homeyboy'' who thinks he know everything about sweden.....
ОтветитьNot sunlight but daylight. It's pretty unusual to see the sun October - January.
ОтветитьExtremely helpful with the shoe horn!
ОтветитьHey, I love queues.
ОтветитьShoehorn and boots. I can understand the usefulness of shoehorn. I don't have to spend time tying my boots and don't have to crush my fingers when putting on the boots especially the cold weather in Sweden.
ОтветитьThere is a pretty funny sketch in the popular old Swedish comedy movie "Sällskapsresan" from 1980, where Lasse Åberg's charming but awkward main character activates one of the metal detectors at Arlanda airport at the start of a package holiday, and it turns out that he has left a metallic shoehorn in his shoe!
Ответитьshoehorns and cheese slicers are a essentials in Sweden pretty much. and about queues. can´t say i love em. or anyone i know. Just know better to get along and respect each others, like in queues. Lastly nice to get the outside perspective;) keep up the good work. and hope you will enjoy your stay here in Sweden.
ОтветитьI use the shoehorn for more then fifthy years now. It's great to keep your shoes last longer.
ОтветитьMe American thinking "wtf is a lunch portion"
ОтветитьSwedes do note love queues! We respect each other so much that we make sure everybody get their service in the order they came.
As oppose what americans and some germans do
It's how Americans are so afraid of shoehorns!! I think it is because to them it signals that you are old or disbled....
As someone said....they save shoes, and I actually put my shoes on even if the laces are tied using shoehorn.....a fantastic tool!
Swedish summer is wonderful. Best day of the year! 🙂
As for winter, well, you don't necessarily get 6h sun in Stockholm as it is very often a heavy overcast. Last winter (or possibly the one before) Stockholm had a grand total of 8h sunshine in December... On the other hand, in late June it never gets completely dark, even at midnight. The sun is below the horizon but not that much.
I wish EU would do dome trading with US, like: US would import politness and tranquillity from EU. EU would import some music and dance talents, piano bars, Wendy's from US. US could learn from EU how to keep streets clean and build fast trains. EU should learn how to build cool recreation villages around Mediteranean for elderly people like in Florida, where only electric mobility scooters and golf cars are allowed. US could learn how to build proper solid houses in tornado endangered regions, EU could learn from US how to make cool movies...
ОтветитьWell no wonder. Americans in general are very uneducated and unawere about the rest of the world.
ОтветитьAs a vice man once said everything is hundredfold better in Sweden than in America
ОтветитьAs a native Swede, I approve of this message.
ОтветитьWe use shoehorns in Norway as well and why we use them all the time is we dont ruin the back of the shoe!
ОтветитьThis is so sweet. I love it. Welcome to Sweden, first time watcher so I want to just say that, even though you have lived here and been a Swede for a while already.
It is always fun to see that new people move here and want to live here. I love it. It feels healthy and progressive to hear and see the ideas and culter shocks of people from around the world. Gives us a peek into how you had it where you came from and what is different here, because I don´t think of how we Swedes live. It is just natural and common to do what we do here, so it isn´t noticable until someone tells us that it is something to remark upon. It is fun, really fun.
Thank you and I hope you have a nice and comfortable continued future here in sweden.
We hate queues we love order and respect!❤
ОтветитьScrew the elders, the best thing about shoe horns is that you don't need to untie your shoes. THAT is priceless 😂
ОтветитьSo a shoehorn makes it easier to put on your shoes, why knock it? its not a controversial thing at all, everyone home should have it
ОтветитьShoehorns are made to protect you shoes mainly. Its not about having a hard time to put the shoes on. But if you use more expensive once than the velcros you had as a child. I suggest you take better care of them :)
ОтветитьI can understand why siting down and work may come as a chock to Americans. But what you also have to understand is that in Sweden we take workers rights and safety issues very seriously. The union is far stronger here then in the US.
The que is much better because no matter your statues we are all the same standing in line. The only time cutting the line is at the ER. Where the person in the greatest need is aloud to cut the line.
We don't love queues. We just don't like the inconsiderate indiscipline.
ОтветитьPaid parental leave... That's family values in action. With money put where the mouth is.
ОтветитьI think you haven't quite understood the point about shoe horns. It's not just -- or primarily -- to help you get your shoes on but to preserve the the shoes. You will damage your shoes otherwise. It may not matter with crappy shoes, but with nicer leather ones it matters a lot. So, unless you have crappy shoes, start using a shoe horn.
