We do need to call on and trust in God, He'll do the heavy lifting if we let Him, but we also have to do our part. I struggle in this area so I know a bit about it, being a work in progress and all. Satan knows how to push our buttons but he can only do it with permission. He starts in your head and works his way to your heart. Ya gotta fight that battle where it lies. Once it gets to your heart, well, now you got a problem. Stay strong, stay focused, and if you have to say it out loud, say it. In the name of Jesus go away. Call in the big guns if you need to. Christ has whupped him before, he will do it again.

No matter what somebody does to you, that does not define you. You are sacred, you are blessed, you are a dwelling place of God. Words I deeply needed to hear. Thank you.

Chris , I would love to hear you talk more about the perspective of faithful Catholics who struggle with these issues -separate from those who haven’t been told of God’s love for them. I think what you mentioned about your son was so powerful because many people who love God still struggle with knowing they are loved and their struggles aren’t necessarily a signal that they are broken . I know many young adults who struggle with feeling different, isolated, depressed and need to hear a message of hope.

Life without temptation and sin is not worth living, everything has a purpose, we need to find a way how to grow in this corrupted world, best way is through resisting them and being a believer.

But not loudly anyway 😮

No one ever says you can create your brain chemical balance. If all you think is negative, you're going to have a "chemical imbalance". The "chemical imbalance" theory is nonsense. It's constantly changing, there's no test for it, and no one really knows what the "balance" is even - and again, it's changing as much as a river, never the same twice. Probably don't even know all the chemicals that exist in there. Absolute silliness. If you exercise, you feel better because of the chemicals. If you never leave the house and order fast food, you'll feel worse because of the chemicals. Personality traits will make difference temperaments. It's not always bad to be this way or that way. The expectation that we should have an easy, "happy" life is another factor making people more miserable than ever. No gratitude, no ability to think, no faith.

"God wanted to make people breakfast." That may be my favorite God inspired quote right there. We tend to focus on walking on water and moving mountains. But God knows full well how to nourish us in all ways. As a former professional firefighter I can attest to cooking for large groups of people, I loved it! Feeding people is one of the most rewarding feelings ever.

Thank you so much this whole talk was really incredible. I have struggled with self talk for a long time.

Please do not despair. God loves you very much. You have to fight that voice, it is drowning out all other voices, tell those voices that you are a child of the King. Say that over and over again, as I have had to do for a long time. It is a war, and our souls are on line. Don't let the devil win - he is envious of your heritage. Fight him, resist him. Listen to Spiritual warfare conferences especially by Fr. Chad Ripperger, he helped a lot. God bless you.

It may not be " your cross to carry to heaven". God does and will help people carry their crosses to the point of healing and delivering them of them. Yes we will always have a cross but God is good and his power shows up! Sometimes he lifts one cross and then we get another. That's okay! Traditional Catholics ,(I am one) need much more faith in God's mercy power in their lives. I have seen this and that's why I'm bringing it up. Thank you for listening to my point of view
