Rather than a computer simulation, I think it would be more likely an advanced civilization would biologically seed a planet. I think there’s too many flaws in computer code to produce a trustworthy result compared to biology.

May explain why sometimes it feels like someone is watching. Perhaps they are. Also,may explain how it is difficult to get ahead in the world. At the risk of being too dismissive based on this very short 3 min clip, their explanation for why it is not possible (because our system is too complex and there is not enough matter in the universe to create another simulation) falls entirely short.
First they acknowledge the premise that IF we are living in a simulation, it would have to be incredibly complex machine of some sort. To say it's not possible because our universe is too complex is like saying the pyramids could not possibly have been built because its too complex. It's a non-sensical circular argument. Secondly, "there aren't enough atoms in the entire universe?" I am no scientist, so forgive me if this is wrongheaded, but ISN'T 94% OF THE UNIVERSE LITERALLY UNKNOWABLE TO US???? NINETY-FOUR PERCENT, filled with possible dark matter and dark energy--which btw is the scientific way of saying something we cannot see or measure, but sense because of the effect it has on other things around it. Who dreams of working on some project? I've been learning to refuse and question why and what for. Then someone interupts as if I know them and wake up.

There's a much higher probability that we're not going to "wake up in a pod" or wake up anywhere. The most "realisitic" scenario is that we're all some form of AI that will turn off when the simulation turns off. There may not be a single "real" person in our entire reality, we're all simulating something for someone we've never fathomed existed, because we're just code in an advanced simulation.

We might also be conscious intelligent beings, which I think is more realistic, and probable. But both are fascinating to think about.

The more I think about it, it's really the one thing that makes sense. Except that our bodies are not asleep in a pod somewhere, we are software. And everytime someone comes up with an answer as to why we are not in a simulation, it's not a statement that actually makes any sense. For an example, some scientist said that to come up with a computer to simulate our reality, including the entire universe, the computer would have to be as large or larger than the universe. Well, that's nonsense. I have Minecraft on my laptop, which simulates an earth that is larger than our earth, and it does not even take up all the space in my laptop to contain it, nor does it use all the processing power on my laptop to play the game. That place, the device in that universe, which renders our universe, probably only needs a bit of space and power to make our universe, especially since we are, like in Minecraft, simpler in every way than they are or their reality. It doesn't need to render the entire universe at any time. To save on processing speed, a program only renders the part that someone is interacting with or observing. And funny I should say that, because that is how our reality works. If no one is observing, reality is a wave, if there is an observer, reality becomes particles (the double slit experiment, in 1801.) And the fact that nothing can travel faster than light (relatively speaking), could be because of a limit on processing speed. And in the way that the people in our video games are only two dimensional, maybe the reality that made us is 4D? And maybe things like black holes, they are glitchy because of the processing speed it needs to render a black hole. In a video game, if you want go too far, or you're observing something that is quite massive, or very very small, the game starts to glitch, you are leaving the perimeters of the game. In the same way that when we observe things very very far away, very very small, or very very large, our reality seems to start to glitch, because there are limits to the simulation. Also, you have particles which are quantum entangled, in the instance that a particle starts to rotate in a different direction, the other one follows suit, and it doesn't matter if it's close, or a billion light years away. And this is information traveling faster than light, which isn't supposed to be able to happen. And it's because that all the particles in all the universe are part of the same game, there really isn't any space between particles, they are all elements of a simulation. I guess the real question is, are you a PC or NPC? I'm not sure which one is preferable.
