[Spoilers] Subnautica: Below Zero Building Al-An's vessel (Final release version)

This game was the perfect roller coaster of emotions. Unique in so many ways. I don't even know how many thousands of times i've immagined meeting an alien in my life, it is probably my first or second best desire. This game basically captured the moment so perfectly, it was just right, everything i wanted. I think i'll be dreaming of this scene my whole life. The design and tech is also exactly as i wanted, powerful, fast, efficient, resistant, immortal, cool, expressive, strange, different, feels far but not too much, actually could almost be realistic, and most importantly, he is big enough to give the best hugs in the galaxy. I wish i could get adopted by one. Only thing that is not perfect is that i would have made the upright part of the body smaller, since biologically speaking it would make no sense to be that high, unless it was genetically modified by them to be that way.

The fact that Al-an didn’t betray us is honestly nice

Why? I waited 4 years to see what a Precursor looked like, and by complete surprise the developers actually made it happen. It just makes me so happy idk-

Fun little fact! If you don't scan Al-An until AFTER he is transferred into his new body, you will get different dialogue!

"Why are you scanning me?"
"Science. Curiosity. I want something to remember you by."
"It feels rather invasive."
"Now you know what it's like."

Al-An is my emotional support alien

Im so in love with the fact that canonically this man cant walk for shit. Like he will teleport even if hes a meter away. Like even the scan says hes just not built for walking. That is stupidly adorable, that mister superior alien race will instantly colapse if he goes for a light jog.

That mournful "yes" when he confirms he caused the outbreak. Poor guy's been dealing with that weight for a millennia.

I would have like a twist ending, that Alan as going to be a bad guy. Cold, logical, he would make a great antagonist in the next game.

Real question: is Alan’s body mechanical or biological

This really is a great game!! I have had a lot of fun with both releases though I did miss having all the crafting from the first one. Great effort and imagine this title being incredible with an A list budget

You know, Al-An's body is so expressive to make up for his obvious lack of capability to express how he feels vocally. During his explanation, aside from his body's natural color fade in and out, he continues to change color to show us just how he feels. At one point, when talking about how he failed to secure the containment by not following the directive, he flickers red for a brief moment. Makes you wonder if there was a heavy disagreement between Al-An and the one who issued the directive. Or if he's just angry with himself for being so stubborn at the time.

tbh I never wanted to interact with the Precursors. I loved the mystery behind them in the first game and how the more you investigated and explored, the more you learned about the history of what happened to them. The second game takes that all away by literally having a precursor explain everything to you.

Ooh is there a reason why they changed the voice actors? Not complaining, its just that Alan sounds far too robotic, i know it may be the intention... but I miss how he used to sound ^^U

What’s the music?

I prefer the concerned "No!" and Allan's calm "very well." when asked about the memories and them being friends. The whole thing felt more personal, like you were meeting a friend for the first time you'd been long distance communicating with. I'm not against how they're explaining the story in this game more directly but I definitely like the more intimate mood his awakening presented that brought about a sense of curiosity in what he really means to do next but also a sense of peace that he seems to actually be genuine.
