Kind of late to this video, but I am curious about the date of mfg of this D8. I thought that the last cable blade D8's were made in about 1959, because my Dad had a brand new cable blade D8 bought in 1958 and it was supposed to be the last of that model? I realize the owners said they bought it in 1964, but how certain were they of that date? Also the one my Dad had was equipped with a logging winch and did not have the cable blade winch mounted on the rear of the dozer as yours does.

My dad owned a cable blade D8 and a few D8hs and a few D8K -s

That bulldozer is an absolute thing of beauty!! Just the right amount of rust. Everything about it tells the story of it's working days!! This machine is by far my favorite of all the earthmovers you've saved!! What a great moment when that engine roared back to life!!

The concept of using a starter to start a smaller engine which is then used to start a bigger engine is just so different to me.
