The Seekers - Georgy Girl (1967 - Stereo)

I’m 42yrs old and I heard this song for the first time yesterday at a Pilot gas station in Ohio. As an avid Simpsons fan I’ve heard them parody this song a couple times but had no idea that it was linked to an actual band. I almost forgot that there was a time where singers could ACTUALLY sing and they sang songs that were encouraging and inspiring. Everything about this song is great from the lead vocalist to the harmonizing backup singers to the instruments. This type of talent simply doesn’t exist anymore

This song would always come on the radio station my mom always put on along with Jon Denver's Leaving on a Jet Plane and The Association's Windy.

I heard this when it first came out. I was in the 10th grade. First year of high school. I have always liked this record. Groups could sing back then and you could understand the music and lyrics.

I was absolutely in love with Judith. I loved her voice. She was a breath of fresh air back I the day. Rest in Peace Judith. You were greatly talented, admired and loved. Your presence on Earth will be missed immensely.♥️
