Well, rtx 3000 and 4000 series has dlls and rtx on support. And if you know how to use them. These are really improve your laptop performence. Gtx cant do that

If you want the laptop for work get the 3050 ti coz you get a new gen cpu and ram while also being able to game well . If you care only for fps at max settings ..get the 1660 ti i guess

On GTX 1660 TI you can enable FSR instead of DLSS. I myself play on a laptop with a GTX 166 ti, on my channel you can see how GTX handles new games.

NVIDIA made a massive mistake not making the 3050 Ti 6GB, it would have been the 1660Ti killer and would have sold like wildfire. Missed opportunity

I buyed my laptop with 1660ti in 2021 and I will now love my laptop more bcs I think it was a good deal for 850 euro.

just sold my 1660ti laptop and upgraded to a 3050ti laptop because of much better overall upgrade such as cpu, display, features, and whatnot. And The Last of Us - Part I mocks me by requiring 5.5 GB VRAM at the lowest settings

Edit: i sold my 3050ti laptop again and got myself a better 1660ti laptop than i had previously. Also somehow while doing this, I made a profit of $150 dollars and also upgraded my mechanical keyboard for free XD

I bought a rtx 3050 ti because the gtx 1650 is getting to old for me

recently i bought an HP Omen with a 1660 ti, because due to that 1660ti laptops were mid tier in ther time, they usually have better build quality than 3050ti laptops and that was the decision maker for me, i just prefer aluminium rather than plastic

I'm running Cyberpunk on a regular 3050 and it's faster than your benchmarks. (And I just refuse to believe my crappy dell bloatware nugget is better than your laptops)

Actually I was recently looking for some gaming laptop, once I found the 1660ti and some on several tests how good this GPU holds even in 2023? what the hell, found the Asus Zephyrus M for 500 Euro, used with i7 and 1660ti, which should I pay extra for 2060 or the 3050ti when the 1660ti kicks ass and it has 6GB memory? but thats my i plan to play only relax games like LoL, Destiny2 and Diablo... so its enough for me.

1660ti is like 2000USD more than a 3050ti on Newegg, so i'll probably be picking the 3050ti.

so you're using a cpu in the 1660ti laptop that would give you 10%ish better performance in games on average, and overloading the vram with ultra settings in a few games, try setting the textures on both laptops to where the VRAM isn't overloaded on the rtx, I'm sure the summary would be 10-15% in favor of the rtx, also consider the difference in the cpu advantage .

This review and testing is total BS, there is absolutely no game that scores better fps with an 1660ti compared with a 3050ti.

Honestly im never buying any Nvidia card with the numbers 50 in it. They're always low end or just cash grabs. I made the mistake of buying a laptop with the 1050 and that's the last one im making.

i go for 1660ti because it brings back nostalgia, gives about the same performance as the 3050 and it's more affordable.

Normally, I don’t post a second comment to an old video but thank you again, Jarrod. My Lenovo legion five 1660 TI with that amazing 144 Hz display, Is as stunning and amazing as it was back then with the latest games a full year later.

I got an asus tuff gaming laptop about 6 months ago with the ryzen 7 cpu and 1660ti and it runs great for me being my first laptop to get me in to unreal engine I do run in to limitations at times but now that I'm working with low polly modles it does just fine and I'm happy with it runs ue5 on epic settings around 60 fps more if I drop it down to high

Real unfair comparison, though their is only 4g vram on gpu, but what about cpu. You will always get higher frame with higher vram settings, i have a acer nitro 5 i5 11800h with 3050 ti play apex at max settings 8g vram and get a constant 140-120 fps

I guess between the two (now a year later of course from when this video came out) it will depend on whether you want better productivity or better gaming. It seems that the 3050 Ti has the edge in productivity apps such as Blender but the GTX has the upper hand (in some cases) in gaming. I think in the end, they are probably more similar for average users (either non-gamers or those that can play at lower settings). I always considered 30 fps+ to be playable though in most cases, as 30 fps is typical video anyway (technically 29.97 at least for NTSC but we can round up to 30 fps).

But at the same time, I kind of wonder with some benchmarks if it is reading the actual FPS output from the card and not taking the display into consideration (including downscaling from a 4k display for example, to a 1080p display) because the 4k display still has to down-scale the image, but I believe the native 1080p display doesn't have to, so this might add extra overhead in some benchmarks (not sure what displays these had though, didn't check).
