So as long as my a1c is out of diabetic levels, that means I’m not diabetic anymore? Did a test and it came back as 6.5 and I started freaking out thinking I’m dying. So if I get it to under that consistently, will I be fine and no longer diabetic ?

Hi Dr Berry, I currently have T2D, diagnosed in 2016, and managed completely by diet. I actually got down to 6.2 A1c about a year ago, but I’ve been struggling, particularly in Summer heat. I do recall that you once said that if you’ve been eating keto or ketovore or carnivore, including Intermittent Fasting, and you’ve not been able to reverse your T2D…your body may be working on something bigger. So, I’ve remained calm in the face of this situation and am in the midst of the big tests for cancer. So, I guess my body really was working on something big. I found that piece of information very helpful in keeping myself from beating myself up. So, I thought I’d say “thank you so much” and maybe encourage you to remind people of this point as well. I’m a bit nervous about possibly having to go on Metformin if I have to undergo chemo and radiation, so I can manage my blood glucose more easily just during cancer treatments, then get back off it afterwards. I hope that makes some sense???? Yours in Gratitude

So if after your A1C is normal and if you go back to eating pizza etc and your A1c goes back up then that’s not really curing diabetes that’s just keeping it under control ?

Hi Dr Ken, I've been on carnivore now for 8 months, my blood sugar has come down to almost normal level. My ldl cholesterol is 4.2 triglycerides 1.3 and my hdl is 1.6 ,my doctor is keen to reduce my ldl, I do have heart issues and I have reduced my statins to almost the point I've stopped them. I was getting pain in my legs and feet cramps mainly which have also stopped, would you consider my ldl as high

I am 66 yo and was told by my primary physician that since my ENTIRE family suffers from T2, it is almost impossible to avoid diabetes. I was ignorant at that time about diet but I was stubborn. Decided to start reading, researching, talking to ppl. Yes, it was hard but I managed to obtain a normal A1C. However, there is no denial that when it is genetic, it is harder. I know some of you don’t believe that but my hubby is a good example. He was pre diabetic. He continues to eat all the bad crap but reduce the portion and very quickly, his A1C went to normal even though he continues to eat the same crappy stuff just smaller amount. So don’t be discourage if you are like me, slow process and have to work harder but still possible to get to normal A1C.

A1c is not what you use to diagnose diabetes. It´s the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test. Many things and conditions can cause your A1c to be too high, for instance: Hb A1c values increase in iron deficiency anemia, splenectomy, alcohol and lead poisoning.

Glycosylated hemoglobin decreases in cases of:
* hemolytic anemia
* Chronic hemorrhage
* Pregnancy
* Chronic renal failure
The presence of Hb F, S + H produces false positive results.
The presence of Hb S, C, E, D, G and Lepore's Hb causes false negative results.

I am type 2 diabetic. I cut all sugar and carbs May 1 and am eating carnivore woe. My insulin dose has gone from 70 units a night to 16 units and my blood pressure pill was cut in half. I'm excited to be off all meds soon. My A1C was 5.6 on my last bloodwork results. I'm amazed. Also, I've lost 33.5 lbs.

ADA has been pushing 45-60 grams per carbs per meal plus two snacks a day. My doc goes along with this. My A1C was not coming down, even with exercise. I just started doing what Dr. Berry talks about in this video and I have already seen a downward trend on my daily testing.

The day I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My vision went blurry, I had a migraine and was vomiting. I discovered that I had ketoacidous. I missed all the warning signs by ignorance of the diesel. My Hbac1 at the time of diagnosis was 121, through channels like yours I changed my diet and lost 3 stone in weight and my last quarterly Hbac1 test I'm now down 36 in six months.i am on metformin but my GP won't take me off the metformin he got annoyed with me when I said that the Hbac1 of a non diabetic was 20 and 42 he said forget the pre-diabetes you are a diabetic and that's it. You have just managed your blood sugar really well, but you are a diabetic for life. I was thinking no, I am not. Hey ho.

Why does everyone have to get on a keto diet, that costs and arm a leg, and still clogs up your arteries with butter. Just eat less, or incorporate more fruits and veggies and whole grains. Cheap and efficient will cure the diabetes as well. And perhaps add a bit of exercice, has benefits that diet alone wont get you

Congratulations on the excellent content! It’s amazing how practical information about nutrition can transform lives. I truly appreciate the effort you put into this video and the clarity with which you explained the foods that affect insulin levels.

Let me share a brief experience: a few years ago, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. I remember how challenging it was at first to understand the impact of food on my body. After learning which foods to avoid and incorporating healthier choices, as you mentioned, I managed to improve my glucose levels and even lose weight consistently. Today, I feel much healthier and grateful for content like yours that makes this journey clearer for so many people. Keep up the amazing work!

I'm in remission. 1 year off my medication and have improved my A1C by 2 tenths. From 8.6 to 5.7 in the first year. From 5.7 to 5.5 in the past year without medication and diet and exercise only. Many say I'm cured. I stick to remission.
