Canada has no idea what to offer. The longer this goes on the level of anger and hate toward the US will increase. It may have gone to far. Yes we know that defence spending is an issue and is real and Canada mismanaged this issue. But difference is threatening to water board Canada rather than punching Canada in the face.

The 51st state statements have had the effect that it will be difficult for Canada to make a deal.
