Great performance! But where's the organ glissando in "Uranus"? Completely inaudible (not the first time I've encountered this in several performances), but when Holst wrote "fff" and "full organ" I think he knew what he wanted...

Dieses Orchester ist in seiner Perfektion einfach nur bombastisch. Und immer wieder, so wie dieses Orchester die Planeten spielt, alle Filmkomponisten aus Hollywood haben von Gustav Holst abgekupfert . ....sich inspirieren lassen 😂 Hauptsache, es gibt was auf die Ohren. Einfach nur toll und jederzeit wieder !

can't believe no one is talking about the TUBA playing in this group, particularly in mars! unsure of who this tubist is in particular, but playing over the whole orchestra with a single tubist is astonishing. BRAVO

Neptune the Mystic has always been my favourite of the planets.

Splendid performance by the Orchestra and Hugh Wolf who I take my hat off to not least because I was a fiddler in the Bilbao Symphony in 1984 when he conducted Dvorjak Cello concerto with Rostropovich. We had lunch together. That's my 5 mins of fame . He is a talented pianist and was deputy conductor of the Seattle I think it was.

Ce qui est émouvant c'est que Brahms symphoniste (comme tous les autres au XIXe siècle) était tétanisé par Beethoven. Wagner a dit de la "9e" : c'est la dernière symphonie.
Moi je pars à l'envers. Je suis amoureux des trois autres de Brahms : et je reconnais déjà : agitation les cordes, transition les vents, doux cuivres bouleversants qui creusent les profondeurs (je schématise). Du Brahms qui ne sait peut-être pas que c'est du Brahms, ce qu'il fait.
