Surabaya, INDONESIA : friendly people and delicious Java food

Surabaya, Indonesia - or the city of heroes - is known for its role in Indonesia's independence and also the food. Indonesian food is so tasty, and traditional food in Java is worth a try. In this video, you see how the historical tour continues (remember we started in the first video in Surabaya? It's here: https://youtu.be/2wQTwI6lUWY). We visit Tugu Pahlawan (Heroes Monument), House of Sampoerna, and Hotel Majapahit, taking a lunch break at Tunjungan Plaza mall for a delicious nasi goreng and rawon. In the end, a surprising street food event near the hotel.

Surabaya is the second-largest city in Indonesia. It's located in Java island (East Java more precisely). The name Surabaya itself means shark and crocodile, referencing a centuries-old tale about a fight between a shark and a crocodile in the area where the city is located. 🦈🐊

This trip to Indonesia was before the lockdown.
