When cod fishing is poor, many Cornish shore anglers fix their sights on species like whiting, dabs and flounder, or target larger fish such as thornback ray. With this in mind, we've picked out three rigs to show you that will suit the shore fishing in Cornwall throughout the winter months. These patterns all have one characteristic in common: they all incorporate a free running element in their design. This means less immediate resistance to a taking fish and, hopefully, a more confident bite for you!
