We own 2 Rav 4 Primes 2021 SE.
After the $15,000 Federal Tax credit out the door was $37k each
Gas is $4.37
I pay .70 cents in electricity to drive to my work which is 28 miles plug it in for free and drive back home.
I have been doing that for a little more than 3 years.
Do the math.
I fill up once every 6 months to keep the gas fresh.
I figure in 3 years I have saved $6k in gas alone.
We plan to keep both our Rav 4 for 10-15 years.
Assuming a 2k annual savings in gasoline we will almost get back what we paid for them after the tax credit in 15 years of use.
I believe the Prime purchases with the $15,000 Federal tax credit was a very smart purchase.
For this kind of money i rather spend it on a lexus with a much better quality interior and exterior premium look. This rav 4 prime just ain't got none of that premium luxury feel to it.
ОтветитьSo much clutters and no room for working on the engine bay. This kind of car will be good for a one time use. Not an ideal car for the DIYer. Itll just be a headache to work on. For a $50 grand car, it sure look primitive in terms of quality interior and features. So NOT worth a premium price by any means.
Ответитьif i knew the option with charge before i bought a RAV4 Hybrid Excel Uk version 😂 I had 6 months a courtesy car Suzuki Across Plugin Hybrid , and after i bought a RAV4.
ОтветитьI can buy an awesome amount of gas for that price difference, even more with the cost of the major repairs later.
ОтветитьI don't know what to do. I like key start but my only option for key start is to buy a LE hybrid and I'm not sure a hybrid is best for me. I currently own a 2013 Rav4 XLE. It has been a great vehicle other than the sunroof has a rattle (in the closed position) and it rides rough. The dealer said it would be very expensive to correct the rattle. I heard beginning in 2019 the ride improved. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьAt last, I got 2023 RAV4 PRIME XSE PREMIUM yesterday exactly as yours shown above with a revised full info screen and a full digital instrument cluster. Thanks for your video.
ОтветитьMost expensive, but best looking of the Rav4 family. I understand the hesitation from the extra $$, but lots of people pay big $ for lexus etc. I went with an XSE tech non prime hybrid just because I didnt want to wait the time it would take for a prime. If both were available at the same time, well hmm be a tuff call, i sure like that prime!
ОтветитьThe cutout on the cablegate does not fix the problem, here in Quebec we have salt on the roads in the winter and it's a huge problem. until they put the connector inside the car like the corolla hybrid, I will never buy a Rav4 Hybrid or Prime until they fix it properly!
ОтветитьHow's this a review of a suv. You didn't even drive it to show how it performs 😅
ОтветитьThe heat pump system is nothing new its been available in commercial and residential applications since 70s
Ответитьguys i need help.... aside from mpg, should i get this rav4 prime or Acadia 2024.... which one?
ОтветитьIt would be nice if you could tag the title with the year model. I thought this was for a 2024 version. But it's a 2022.
ОтветитьNOT by a long shot! All these vehicles are clearly not worth the investment. A properly built car will and should NOT be having problems especially when its a brand new vehicle. This is why when i go shopping for a vehicle I look for anything that just look and feel flimsy. And then i will determine if its a bad vehicle not worth looking at because I'm already seeing red flags pointing to all the cost of repairing. I don't want a money pitfall vehicle down the line period. I want my moneys worth and scrutinizing every little things that can go wrong will only add more of a headache down the line. So scrutinizing every components tell me if its actually worth investing my hard earn money on a vehicle. Just by seeing that vehicle i can already see that it doesn't have the body style that I'd like. It just look funky and cheaply build materials. In terms of maintenance, i wouldnt even touch it or drive it to even beging to think about maintenance. Nothing on that engine says user-friendly when it comes to maintenance. So much cluttering and the engine layout a nightmare to gain access. The interior layout, not even close to high quality nor modern standard. I just see this vehicle as a one time use. After 3-5 years just toss it as there's just no any added value in keeping it maintaine. When i purchase a vehicle i intend on keeping it for the long hauled if it ain't got that quality im looking for. It just aint worth a dime investing.
ОтветитьLet’s talk about AWD system if is as slow as the 2007 no thanks it’s only good for 3” of snow.
ОтветитьGreat info on how the HVAC system is really a heat pump and cools the battery constantly. Need to watch again to get more clear on that. Had my '23 RAV 4 Prime XSE for a month now, 500 miles on it, getting about 47 miles on a charge (summer). No road trips, haven't used any gas yet. All the videos on the "problems" I've seen are minor stuff like, somebody thinks the window buttons aren't positioned right. I do wish there was a rear release to lower the seats. It's a reach to do it from the back gate. Otherwise I love the car.
ОтветитьThank you. My wife had her heart set on a new RAV4 Prime whereas I was looking for something a little less expensive. I don’t feel like such a sucker anymore
ОтветитьJust wondering if Toyota has installed a hour meter just for the ICEngine. A lot of new vehicles will display the engine hours either driving or just idling. Thinking that most local trips will be in EV mode, it would benefit the driver/owner to determine how much usage occurred strictly with the gas engine to determine when oil changes or coolant should be changed.
Thoughts?
Deep into Lexus territory? Only Toyota and Lexus owners are so delusional that they think slashing the original logo in half to make a wannabe “luxury” brand is worth paying for more of the same company. It’s like a schizophrenic thinking he’s better than himself. Same goes for Nissan and Infiniti and Honda Acura.
ОтветитьWhat about the cameras?
ОтветитьGreat video!!😊
ОтветитьI would like to buy a RAV4 Prime, but like many companies Toyota has gone woke due to their Vice Presidents of marketing and DEI. Why a capitalist company goes woke is beyond me. Upper level management is ultimately responsible. I must question their judgment based on what has happened to Bud Light, Disney, Target, etc. Shut it down now!
ОтветитьGreat, but even more complicated sensors and gadgets to go bad after your guarantee has expired! 🤔
ОтветитьIn my view, it’s well worth the cost only if you consider the $7500 EV tax credit. Also, I’m getting 53 miles EV range! It took me a year and a half to use the first tank of gas! Of course, I used a fuel conditioner to reduce/eliminate the corrosive effect of stale ethanol gas.
ОтветитьDoes RAV4 prime have head up display (HUD)?
ОтветитьIs the xse worth it compared to the se for the Prime? The differential is $3.5K before markups
Ответить2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV; I look forward to your review of it and be honest where the Mitsubishi has provided advantages or not compared to the Toyota RAV4 Prime or Hybrid and if you want to be somewhat unfair/softly mean, even though this Mitsubishi has 3rd row really only for little children, you might make a comparison to a much larger segment vehicle like the Highlander. Maybe Remember to mention that ordering a RAV4 or other Toyota models could be a waiting period of 3-18 months.
ОтветитьHello there,
I have a question for you Sr., I drive 2019 rav4 adventure and the heated seat doesn’t heat up enough. They are working but just weak. In my local Toyota dealership said technicians check $128/hour. Feels like to much just to check. Any suggestions how to proceed before winter hits.
Thanks
I have a 2021 Prime and absolutely love it! You mentioned that there is no base model for the Prime. The only trim I could get was the XSE fully equipped. I would have bought a base model, but now that I have the XSE I love it. I never had a car with so many feachers.
ОтветитьAgree…but we bought one for one reason. It’s a hoot to drive compared to any other compact SUV. It’s like driving a full size SUV in comfort because of its weight. Other than the wind noise of the roof racks, it eats up highway miles. Lastly, in every mode including those with the motor on, it has instant response of a full EV. It’s a marvelous transmission and a very good driving experience. So no, it’s not a practical way to get great mileage, but watching cars disappear in your RVM while driving a frumpy RAV4, is a hoot.
ОтветитьAre there any other Toyota owners out there who are pissed off that when you start the car, the display comes up with the "Experience Drive Connect" banner? It stays there till you hit a button to change the display to something else. I paid $50k for my R4P, and I'm forced to look at an ad for an optional (and overpriced) add on?
ОтветитьI just bought a RAV4 PRIME in part because of your video. I love it. However I topped off my gas tank last Friday and 90 percent of the 8+ gallons that I put in was water. The gas station had a leaky tank. The car shut down and rolled to a stop twice as we tried to bring it to the dealer. The dash said hybrid system malfunction bring to dealer. It was towed. What should the dealer do to fix it? It is 3 months old with 5k on it. Will it still last like a Toyota or is it damaged? I need some advice. Love the channel by the way.
ОтветитьI have a real problem with the all- black interior... really severe.
ОтветитьWaiting for 7 seater 😊
ОтветитьDo you recommend using Krown rust proofing on 2023 rav4 prime? Live where they use salt in the winter
ОтветитьJust as a suggestion, In future videos it might be a little more informative if the plastic covers were removed so you can see all the stuff and things those covers are hiding.
Just an idea.
Even if I have a RAV4 Prime , I learned a lot of new things about it. This was a very interesting video to watch!😊
ОтветитьIs The Most Expensive New Toyota RAV4 Worth It? NO.
ОтветитьIs Toyota still using Nickel Caduim batteries or lithium ion? I don't like nickel cadium old tech.
ОтветитьI test drove the Rav4 Prime and the LExus variant. I far in a way preferred the Toyota. I thought it had a better ride, was screwed together better (although not as plush), the CVT noise was not as loud.
ОтветитьThe roof racks are removable? On older Rav4 models they were not.
ОтветитьWould aLexus be quieter?
ОтветитьIf you have a choice between the Prime and NX 450h+ plugin, which will you choose?
ОтветитьThis is by far the best review of the Rav4 Prime. Extremely thorough in every aspect of the vehicle. Every review needs to be this indept. Keep up the good work, you have my respect.
ОтветитьIts a good car but way overpriced for what it is
ОтветитьSimple answer….NO!!!!
