I tried your procedure and it didn't work. Tried it again. Still no luck. Tried is a THIRD time and it appears to have FIXED my receiver. Thought I'd post this so that others may be encouraged to try your procedure a couple times if it doesn't work the first time. Thank you very much!

Fixed my receiver after power surge/ outage resulted in unit not turning on. Strangely TV and DVD player were unaffected by this.

Yesturday at the party it turned off and whenever i tried to turn it on the power light just flickered. After using this trick i can hear the click again but nothing on the display. Weird.

Didn't work. I used Tone and the straight button not info. Luckily i had a 100W lamp in series, there was a short in power module STK 433-330. Speaker terminals were damaged, may have caused the module to fail but i don't think so. I think it was abused later or damaged in the post. If your unit shuts straight down again it could be a similar short circuit somewhere, rectifier, one amp module, a bad smoothing cap after the main board rectifier, a bad V regulator etc. Check for power from the standby transformer. Possibly around 12V and then gets regulated to around 3V to the main processor. If processor is getting power then a reset should do something, fix the fault and try again.

We have a Yamaha ns-p270 hooked up to our TV and although we love the sound quality, we have to keep getting up to turn the dial to adjust the sound. I haven't been able to figure out why the volume buttons on the remote do not work. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Please, I have RX-V6A. When I select, like source, USB or Blu ray, or other sources, after a few of seconds, automatically the Yamaha selects the bluetooth source. I tried, on the menu, to disactive the bluetooth but..nothing! Help me, please. Excuse me for my bad english but I'm italian.

Following a power outage, I was no longer able to turn on my receiver, even though it was plugged into a power surge protector.
According to the owner's manual, if when turning on the receiver, the standby light flashes a few times, you should contact the nearest service center and request a repair.
So I consulted (TricksTipsFix), and he had the solution. What address should I send my check to? Thanks again.
