Top 5 mistakes:
1. Not clarifying (You can get build up so have to clarify every 3 weeks with SLS)
2. Co-washing (You will get build up if you co wash every time. Use this schedule: co wash, co wash, lo poo etc. As I am coconut co wash is advised)
3. Deep conditioning (Use it! Time and quality product! At least 30 minutes. Add oil or honey to make a conditioner a deep conditioner. Use shower cap and hot hat.)
4. Raking in products (denman brush does not work for waves. Use super soaker method and smoothing and scrunching)
5. Skipping gel. (Expecting hold from wrong products. Use gel in your wet hair! Key to happiness!)
Your videos are so helpful, thank you! I think my hair is most similar to yours of all the videos I've been watching, maybe a bit thicker / denser than yours but I'm not sure yet.
Your comment about the denman brush really struck a chord with me, I have seen a few wavy girl videos talking about it but it has disasterous effects for my waves it just brushes them out and makes them stringly! Scrunching works so much better!
Just starting and super confused to be honest. I don’t want to put all kinds of products on my hair. I’m going to use shampoo and conditioner, gel and I will do clarifying and deep conditioning thanks to your advice.😮
ОтветитьI’m still learning- I think the biggest mistake I’ve made is going to channels where my hair type isn’t represented and using the same methods as curlier hair types and expecting good outcomes. Lol
ОтветитьThank you! ❤
ОтветитьBut I love the waves on your hair. I really wish to have that kind of hair.
I have a 2a wavy hair, but my front part of hair is 2b while the back was just a frizzy dry mess not so wavy hair. Overall, it was a messy hair. I saw a lot of tips that you shouldn’t wash your hair everyday. I want to do that, but since I live in a very tropical country, my hair tends to be oily, so if I don’t wash my hair for one day it would be disgusting. That’s why I had no choice but to wash my hair everyday. I know its wrong, that’s why I can understand why my hair is mess.
I just found you channel. I have a question. I have a deep conditioning but it says only leave on for 5 minutes. Will it work properly if I leave it on for 30 minutes. I am buying a clarifying shampoo and then do I use the deep conditioning and rinse it out and then do my hair what is the process thank you
ОтветитьWhat does that mean... Co wash , low poo ?
ОтветитьSodium lauryl sulfate makes my head break out and dandruff and itching. I just can’t use it
ОтветитьThis video just saved my hair life! Thank you! Menopause changed my very curly hair and made it wavy. It never occurred to me I'd have to care for it differently but I clarified and used your video to diffuse and now I love my hair again. I just can't thank you enough!
ОтветитьHow do you survive without brushing wavy hair? My hair goes almost to my waist and it gets so tangled that it drives me insane. So then I brush all my waves out on day 1 and I can't figure out how to get past that
ОтветитьI felt like this was in a whole different language. I understood absolutely zero.
Ответить#1 mistake is calling your wavy hair curly 😂
ОтветитьHey lovely ladies! I've just signed into my husband's account so I can leave a comment without making my own 😉 So I think my hair is between wavy and curly, if I don't dry it or brush it, it turns into ringlets but if I brush it, it's just a soft wave. I have fine oily hair with lots and lots of layers. A few years ago I tried the 6 week method where you don't wash your hair and it's apparently meant to self correct and stop making so much oil. Well it just didn't work. My hair is oily by lunch on day 2, even though I never put conditioner on my head, just below my ear lobes and down.. I used a cleansing clarifying shampoo but can get build up easily. Help! I want to try the CG method, I think my hair would really benefit from it! One issue I have is my schedule (as all of you ladies know, life is cray cray busy!) I homeschool our 3 children, run a 500HA farm, a mechanical business, I do all the bookkeeping for both and do all our cooking and cleaning.. my days start early and end late so I'm looking for a routine that is quick, inexpensive and doesn't require a long diffusing time! I don't even own a hairdryer because I never used it I just gave it away 😆I know it's a tall order but I'm desperate for some suggestions! How do you ladies manage all these things? Looking forward to hearing back from someone! ☺️
ОтветитьHer: Greetings my wavy sisters!
Me: *a guy*
Can we use head and shoulder?
ОтветитьI'm just starting to look at leaving my natural wavy after yrs of dyes, straighteners etc and it's so overwhelming all the info and questions 😂 this video will hopefully help me. I don't feel like I would be able to just co wash though 🤦🏼♀️ I don't feel like I would have cleaned my hair! I need to look at clarifying though .... So off I go to Google and see what I can find and buy in the UK
ОтветитьWhen I clarify my hair it starts falling out even more than it already does. Anyone have any tips?
ОтветитьI just ordered a heat cap!! I’d never heard of doing that!! Thank you!!! Super excited to try it!! ❤ Honestly I don’t deep condition because I just don’t have time! This way I can put it on, get out, make my coffee, get my clothes ready, then use my handheld shower head to rinse! Which is ANOTHER thing I never thought about!! My hair thanks you!!
ОтветитьHere in Denmark, we don't use SLS shampoo for Build-up. We use vinegar with water or lemon with water.
What is the different for you?
If this is your mistake day, then you have absolutely gorgeous hair! It’s hardly frizzy. Your hair is super shiny and very healthy looking!
Ответитьwhat gel would you recommend for waist length low porosity wavy hair? Your hair looks so pretty can't believe it was your bad hair day lol
ОтветитьI think I have 2a wavy hair and I've been trying to figure out how to best handle it for about 5 years now. (before that, I always thought I had straight hair lol). I also just found out I have extremely low porosity, so styling products don't penetrate my hair at all....that probably means I'm getting even more buildup. My hair has recently lost its luster, and I think it's because I started using a natural detox shampoo instead of the Suave blue one. I probably need to go back to that. I do use the praying hands method and try to keep my hair as clumpy as possible, but I use a curl enhancing lotion. It works for a few hours but my hair gets crunchy as it dries and as soon as I scrunch the crunch out, it starts to straighten. But if I don't use it, my hair gets really frizzy. Anyway, should I be using a gel instead of the curl enhancer lotion? And if so, what brand is recommended? I've been trying to grow my hair out and it's halfway between BSL and my waist, but it's getting straighter and stringier and I just don't know what to do with it. I want to cut it to my shoulders, but I'm never happy with that because I strictly air dry and don't have time for diffusing, curling, straightening, etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
ОтветитьNot necessarily a “mistake”, but for me I can’t do gel on my sopping wet hair. If I do that, it just weighs it down. I prefer to gel after plopping. In general too much water in my hair just weighs it down, which is why I think I don’t see a lot of success with a denman brush. Your hair has to be so wet to style with a denman and I don’t think my hair can do that. I typically air dry since I don’t have a diffuser right now and my curls just droop lower and lower as the minutes go by.
ОтветитьIs gel or mousse better for 2b? I'm genuinely so lost. I really don't have the budget to buy both
ОтветитьOn the issue of hand-held shower heads, you don't need to buy one, I don't have one but I just dry off before deep conditioning and then wash it out in the sink.
ОтветитьGEL?!! Stiff rock hard gel!!
No thanks. Want my waves to be soft, not concrete.
Now i know why my hair looked so horrible for like 2 weeks should have clarified thx
ОтветитьIs it possible to do a full lo-poo routine? I have oil-related dandruff so I really do need to actually cleanse my scalp when I wash it.
ОтветитьIf you have polyquanternium build up on your hair you're doing something wrong anyways. This is a micro plastic which is used instead of silicone. The hair industry uses this so they can label their products as "silicone free" but in reality this stuff is even worse. When you use the right products you don't need any clarifying shampoo at all.
ОтветитьShe keeps saying sister, but I'm sitting here as a bro :|
ОтветитьI'm new to embracing my hair type because it's been a bushy and frizzy mess for most of my life, but how often should I use a clarifying shampoo, especially if I only wash my hair every 2-3 days?
ОтветитьHi, I just purchased the Cake Curl Cream and I found out it has silicones should I use it (It has dimethicone)
ОтветитьI like your colour what is it
ОтветитьAny good recommendations for gel? Don’t even know where to start because I have thick ethnic hair but does have a wave pattern that I don’t want to weigh down
ОтветитьI am new with my wavy hair how to give it definition to the its wavy.
Ответитьdo you deep condition when you co-wash? Or move on to regular conditioner after co-washing and only deep condition when clarifying?
ОтветитьCan you explain "build up", "co-wash" and "clarifying sessions"? I'm new to the lingo.
ОтветитьIs there any good clarification options other than those with sodium laurel sulfate?? I'm allergic to it and it is painful for me to use.
ОтветитьI’ve just ordered a cream... f*ck.
ОтветитьWhich gel would you recommend for fine wavy hair?
ОтветитьWe are always so hard on ourselves, aren't we? Your hair is so cool!
ОтветитьHey I’m trying to go natural but it’s just so hard! I don’t have the right equipment, basically I don’t have a wide enough tooth comb so it’s so difficult to brush thru my hair and it’s always frizzy whereas when I didn’t go wavy it was super soft. I’m kind of missing that :( plus I don’t have anything for curly/wavy hair except for a curl enhancing mousse.
ОтветитьYou can use the sprayer at the kitchen sink to rinse the conditioner. That would be more controllable.
ОтветитьFor me the CGM didn’t work 😅
ОтветитьYour bad hair is my dream hair :')
ОтветитьI definitely rake product in 😬 just trying to find my way in the curly girl method as a wavy.. any gels you guys really love that are budget friendly?
ОтветитьI have a question, how do I brush my hair between the washing days without ruining the waves? Should I brush it at all?
ОтветитьShould we use cream+Gel or Gel alone?
Ответить
