Recently I watched the movie Argo, which is about 6 Americans escaping from their Embassy in Tehran, during Iran's revolution. A somewhat trivial bit of dialogue caught my attention. An Iranian official stating that before the revolution most of the movie theatres were porno. Now add this to another piece of info I read from a reputable News outlet about the backgrounds of the 9-11 suicide bombers stating that most were either gay or had been abused sexually as boys. Add to this that research has verified that homosexuality and its practices among heterosexuals was more common throughout the Middle east than in the West, due to Muslims wanting the preserve their virginal celibacy before marriage. Now note that Criminologists know that all serial killers are also sexual perverts. All this dovetails with some esoteric spiritual wisdom which states that sexual excess and perversion will eventually result in a a degradation of character, loss of self control, fanaticism, insanity, and murder. So maybe there is another explanation under surface political events why there is so much fanaticism in the Middle east, and not amongst Muslim countries in Asia
