Omg picking her up and showing her things that she doesn't usually get to see, I can relate to that! My cat wanted to go on this counter with a toaster oven and microwave and there wasn't any room for her to do so safely but I could tell she wanted to jump there, so I just picked her up and showed her everything on there and now she ignores it like its old news 😂

I’m adopting two kittens soon (they are both siblings who do not want to be separated so my family agreed to adopt both) im doing my best to be prepared. One of them is very playful, the other is also playful but more calmer. I proofed my house so the kittens won’t get into harm. I’m nervous but excited 😭🥰❤️

Showing my cat high places was my holy grail! I got him when he was 3 months and he was so undersocialized to the point that if I looked at him he would run away, and any time I picked him up he would be shaking and his heart would be beating so hard, but as soon as I got him up high he would stop and he’d get excited and start purring.

I hater cat now I have 2 of them 😂😂😂😂. I was scared of them....

LOL yeah.. lots of these things (to a veteran cat owner) is just kind of funny... if the cat ate the grape.. call the vet and keep an eye on them... cats do not like clothing at all and require training just for a harness... and mine literally just tipped over in shock the first time I put it on them. Combo of wet and dry food is good, keep fresh water avail at all times.. regular checks are a must and yes, they get worms, A LOT.

I am about to take in a stray cat that has been hanging out at my sister's place and I am just like you...have had every pet ever except for a cat (except for one that I found after being hit by a car that I took to the vet and then cared for for a week until someone else could take him). I'm SO excited but also SO nervous because I just don't want to do anything wrong :-)

We found a homeless 2 yr old boy we called DEXTER on our patio furniture & honestly he was (R I P) the best boy ever. Im glad u talked about ADOPTION & spaying . We had a shelter here with 900 cats 🐈!!! it was sickening. I recued 2 cats from another shelter 1 had been there 11 yrs & the other for 14 yrs. Can u imagine that? This is the cutest video. I LOVE cats, always have, and knew they were misunderstood by too many. There is a soul connection to cats if one allows it. I did laugh at the part about being uncomfortable for the sake of their comfort - I don't know why but it's so common for people who are owned by cats.

Over the years, I'm noticing more and more men in the cat section at PetSmart. Recently, I came around the corner and saw the cutest sight. A young man had a kitten and he was putting it on the cat trees asking it, "Hey, buddy...do you like this one?" Poor thing looked terrified but I could tell he was going to have a good life - he daddy cares about him.

And, I LOVE to watch Rachel and Jun's channels (they have two) - they are such a cool couple who LOVES their cats. I also enjoy when Rachel speaks Japanese - she's so fluent.

I think i wish i knew was to take care of their oral hygiene. I wish i had started brushing his teeth at least twice a week from a kitten. Merri is 8 now and at some point i discovered he had gingivitis and plaque and even lost a few of the tiny teeth on the front bottom. I felt so guilty and like such a bad catmom. 95% of people of course don't brush their teeth but i def will do it from a kitten with future cats. To correct the problem, i got this enzyme powder from a Quebec company called baci+. It really helped his gums and even can take some of the tartar off. I'm very reticent to have his teeth clean since their is risk with the general aenesthesia, and he has a heart murmur. I might do it eventually because i always worry that his teeth may hurt. So definitely, brush your cat's teeth at least every other day even if it seems silly. Suki is only 2 so you can still start and save her a lot of dental problems later❤

I use the pea husk pellets from CatIt. What a difference! There is NO DUST and it lasts a lot longer, feels cleaner too. 👍

Oh, and i just had my graphic artist add my cat on my channel stickers 😊

We've been seeing a new black & white stray cat in the neighbourhood lately so we're leaving cat food outside (and i have to keep mine from getting into it since he can't eat kibble anymore after the blockage LOL) and been trying to film the new cat but haven't had luck yet. Stay tuned 👍

You gotta be careful with pet insurance because they don't cover everything. I would suggest saving that money in a savings account instead, then you will have the money if you have to go to the vet. And yeah, i feel the pain. My Merri just had a urinary blockage. 5 hours at the vet : $1900 🤦‍♀ Giving them 1 part apple cider vinegar in 3 parts water 1-2 times a week can prevent crystals from forming in their bladder . Wish i had known that before, but now i know. 👍

Super good advice on the flea preventative. People think they can't get them if thei rcat doesn't meet other cats, but fleas live outside in the soil too. I give my cat Credelio (it's a pill that they chew). Worm preventative is also important, especially that there is no cure for heartworm in cats, and all it takes is one mosquito bite. 👍

I can totally relate to when you say you didn't know you could love something as much as you love your cat. I'm like that too! I'm constantly thinking about her when I'm not around. I'm glad I'm not the only one haha!

Tip on teaching cats to enjoy nail clipping, if you can try and get even just 1 nail, or pretend to clip a nail, give her a treat right after and keep doing that, build up her tolerance on that and she'll enjoy it! I did start Yuki when she was young bc that was one of my worries, but she actually comes running to me when I bring out the clipper now bc she knows she's going to get the yummies!!

Just as you mentioned me and my boyfriend were blessed with a litter of kittens (4) along with their mother!! He legit found them in his backyard being raised in a bush. I’m taking in two and he’s keeping the mom and one of the babies, and the last one is going to a friend of mine who has a cat, so they’re also knowledgeable about cats. This is my first time having kittens but I’ve nvr been so ready for this connection <3

I got my cat 10 days ago and I love him so much he‘s 3 months old. During the day he‘s such a cutie BUT he always gets crazy in the evenings and does everything he isn‘t supposed to (scratching my furniture, jumping on the table…) and it drives me crazy I even feel like he does it on purpose… any tips from anyone? 🥹

biggest mistake people always make is spending hundreds on toys lmao [send it to a shelter instead] cats love boxes, paper bags, shoe-lace strings. there are so many cat-safe/can be made cat-safe [with supervision] around the home already and then you'll find out what the cat likes to play with then you can buy actual cat toys.
