Best show on Netflix. Funny real and gut wrenching. Ricky is a genuine and has a heart of gold.

After Life and Derek are brilliant, but they are also on rails, considering the triggered emotions while watching. There is nothing that comes close if the viewer is in the right mood.

One minute I'm laughing my head off the next I'm crying my eyes out..Such a emotional rollercoaster I've never experienced... Award winning game changer..

What a real disappointment of a series - It's the sort of acting we did with our friends when we were 7

I watched this show few times over last few years. I watched it again tonight havent seen it in ages and never gets old I love it. I wish Karl had stayed in it longer he was great. But over all ricky played the part brillant u forgot who he was and got lost in the charter he played which is genious. Loved it so heart felt

Ricky Gervais has a writer's gift of being able to make you connect with the unconnectable. Kevs piece to camera at the end of episode 7 really hits you hard out of nowhere. Great show

You can't get through the first series without crying! Episode 7 is stunning! David Earl is so good, especially in Episode 7.

"A Netflix original" don't make me laugh, this was on Channel 4 long before Netflix had anything to do with it.

i have yet to watch this (just found out about it today) but i work as a life enrichment/activities coordinator at a retired living community (assisted living, enhanced and memory care) and this trailer is VERY accurate on the goings-ons in a place like this.

Only one thing I have to say: we need more derek in the world.

This is the most depressing show I've watched with a few moments of hilarity thrown in.

It's a nice TV show, but has nothing to do with true reality of working in a care home. Carers hardly ever have time to just sit and hold people by a hand or solve puzzles with the residents. It's a really hard job, physically and mentally and people working there for years and loving their job it's something that hardly ever happens. Unless they are 'paracetamol nurses'. It's stressful, often dangerous, as you have to deal with a lot of all kind of abuse from the residents with dementia. I wish those places looked like in 'Derek', but they simply don't.

makes me miss my work so much. this is an awesome picture into what it means to be a nurse.
