WEEKEND IN MÜRREN: Top 10 things to do in Murren – Schilthorn Piz Gloria, Thrill Walk & More!

Hi Alexis & Louis, I was reading that there is some constructions going on. I am planning to travel to Scilthorn in September 2023. Can you please suggest if the mountain is still good to visit and the thrill walk is accessible or not?

Thanks for your beautiful and informative video. We are visiting Switzerland on last week of October. However we will stay in Interlaken. If we have only one day for Lauterbrunnen, Murren and Piz Gloria, may I know how many hours we should set to do the whole trip, Lauterbrunnen, Murren and Piz Gloria? You need to monitor your sound, as sometimes the microphone is too far away making it hard to hear and understand. That is particularly the case for my American ear when Louis speaks as I need better sound to understand him through his accent.

You might also add more vistas in relationship to the views of surrounding people.

Notwithstanding my hopefully useful criticism, I enjoy your videos of Switzerland very much.

Would you describe the weather in the Interlaken region in late August/early September as a good time to visit?

Thank you for your informative information. We are heading to Murren on Saturday, do you know if the playground opens now? The wedsite said the funicular typically runs from mid-June till October. Does that mean the park is closed?

Went to Murren today and there was a TON of construction going on right now. Also, the ride up wasn't bad, but the ride down was a little rough. It was PACKED and there was very little ventilation. Felt like a mini oven. Glad we had masks.

Is La Religieuse (cheese rind that forms at the bottom of pot) in Swiss German called as "Die Nonne" or "Grossmutter" ?

It doesn's look as if anybody has answered your question concerning the Swiss German name for "la réligieuse", the cheese crust at the bottom of the fondue pan. It might be a local thing, but we call it "s' Grossmüeti" which translates into "the grandmother", probably because of its rather wrinkled look. :-)

If you ever go back there, the walk from Murren down to Gimmelwald is gorgeous, and the little village is definitely worth seeing. Also, the restaurant on the Piz Gloria is a worthwhile splurge. The views are amazing, as it rotates hourly.
