For me in the metro games my favorite assault rifle is the kalash or ak 47 even if it jams from dirt but it just looks like a nuclear wasteland weapon

It's a shame that whoever was providing the footage for the video killed unnecessarily. Obviously going for the bad ending for poor Artyom? I think it takes more skill to get the good ending so I always go for that. Just like in the Dishonoured series

this guy says silencers arent as effective on revolvers as they are on "Pistol" technically isnt a revolver in that video a pistol? and Lars from the other video says silencers are more effective on revolvers... anyone care to elaborate?

Today i completed metro exodus on ranger hardcore and got perfect ending

on the three shot revolver you rotate the cylinder by hand

Its crazy, the air gun in Exodus is pretty close to the best gun in the game. I said the same thing 1st time I played... Oh well if all else fails, we got something at least.
But its silent, accurate, powerful, the ammo is easily crafted and yes... you can over-charge the air tank for a couple power shots. I used it through the whole game. After a few upgrades, you get a higher ammo cap and a bigger air tank for more shots before a recharge. But I just pump it up between shots and its always good to go.
Its only drawback is in dealing with hoards of enemies. Obviously it gets weaker as the air pressure drops. But sneaky steath one-at-a-time engagements, its perfect.

You didn't notice in the gameplay footage, but the answer to the "how does a revolver with different cylinders account for timing" question is : you advance the cylinder manually.
Its barely noticeable, but with the cobble-job revovler in Metro Exodus, the charachter turns it with his thumb.
Which creates more issues if theres no locking mechanism to stop the chamber parallel with the bore... but its a game lol.

I had an instructor tell me the AK-47 could be buried for years, and you can dig it up, kick open the frozen bolt and it would run. You can dunk it in mud or sand, it will run. You can not clean it ever and it will run. If the russians made cars as well as AKs, GM and Ford would be out of buisness. 😆

I absolutely love this game. However, I do find the seemingly random control scheme and janky moving weird. I also like how the AK-“47” is actually an AK-74.

Love the video but cams don't lift the cylinder that's the crankshaft lol cams move the lifter which opens and closes the valves and the camshaft keeps the valves in time to work when they're supposed to unless you have a rotary I have no idea how those work lol

About the bastard gun in 2033 it's actual mentioned that the bastard gun is very crappy in quality since it's basically churned out of the stations every day

In the game you have to clean your weapon or they will jam and be unable to use them until you clean them

The bastard gun got its name because it does in fact malfunction a lot.
Overheating and jamming make it an unreliable choice.
This is addressed both in gamplay and by the characters in universe.
It doesn't just look jank for the sake of looking cool.

I love how gracefully Israel plays the straight man and lets Paul talk. Paul is super interesting and engaged, and it was really fun.

You can overcharge the air guns, but the excess with bleed off over time. It is enough to get a couple more lethal headshots or damage bigger mutants.
