Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen: Beginner Guide

I went on to play the game over 400 hours, beat it on switch, Xbox, and PC. I have a few other vids but this is the more important one. Hope those who pick it up enjoy it!

Finally I been trying to play this game but was getting hella confused since I play an hour here and there.

One thing you should note is that character build determines carry weight. Big strong character can carry more. Small builds conserve more stamina while climbing though, so a giant tank isn’t usually good

you can explain tips without telling all the quests info. Why did you explain what the quest was about? To spoil it? All you had to say was...Go up to the church and there is a questgiver. ....Thats it. You dont have to explain the entire quest!!!!!!! Thx.

Can you recover a port Crystal that you placed somewhere?

I spent 2 hours in first town looking for flowers just to find them outside of town when I gave up. I didn’t discover the items in storage until after I made it to capital and spent all my money on armor. All in all been playing 3 days and really enjoying it so far

Not sure if its intentional but I am currently level 15 and struggling with bandits I come across. Got destroyed in the Quarry for example and random bandit camps. I just don't seem to be doing much damage. My pawns are level 14. I have weapons upgraded to 1 star and upgraded skills unlocked. What am I missing???

I just feel so lost and it’s sad I really want to enjoy the game I like the combat I like the world but I have no dies where I’m going and it’s very disappointing cuz it gets boring being lost 247. I don’t mean to diss the game or anything I just wish I had a better idea of what was going on I think I’ll get back to this game next year and restart it cuz at this point I think I need the reset. Hope I didn’t offend anyone but yeah man people hate linear games I prefer them cuz I have horrible sense of direction

How the hell...i never fought the hydra...but I'm at bluemoon tower...apparently i skipped that part of the tutorial lol...makes sense on why the guards won't let me into Gran Soren...🤣🤣🤣 by the by...there's a way to get to that part of the map by the witches woods...through all those damn bandits...and then through an old mine...i could've sworn one of my pawns said something about finding 'another way' to Gran Soren...

One thing I would say about creating your first pawn is that it may seem like a good idea to make one that's going to be the opposite of your play style, but this is a trap. Over time the AI in this game makes your pawn copy your fighting style, so if you're a close up fighter and you create a ranged fighter to complement that you will end up with a ranger that just rushes in gets killed. Same if you're a ranged magic or bow user and you want a warrior, you'll end up with a warrior that just stays back and does nothing.

So for you're main pawn you'll want something that's inline of whatever play style you plan to have for your character.

The combat is kinda generic.... Gets repetitive doing the same moves and it's very easy to max out your upgrades.

Yo! I just pick up this game for ps4. I just want to know if I can personally build my whole party? I mean my pawns, can I build them personally based on my preference, level them up and upgrade their weapons and armors while I'm also building my main character? Or renting pawns from online will always be required once I reach the mid part or near the end of the game?

I already have a set of party in mind, I will be a Fighter, then my party will have Mage, strider and archer. I plan to stick with that lineup for the whole game and just grind for the levels and armors/weapons of my whole team. Is that possible?

I’m one of those who quit after a few hours. Made pretty much every mistake you mention in the first 7 minutes. Aaaalright. I’ll give it another shot, this time on the Steam Deck. Seems like a must with DD2 coming so soon. :)

Very helpful and thanks. Just started it again on PC after never finishing it up on Xbox 360. The addition of extra Quality of Life items. They definitely help the gameplay. Another tip missed is you can kick the Ox to get it to move faster! I didn't know about items being in the Inn vault. This is really helpful and thanks.

Great vid - I am a few hours in to my first playthrough, I have made it to Soren, but I managed to miss almost all the stuff in the first town, including the storage, so looks like I missed out on some useful armour and gold!
