Hello. I have '08 Jeep Commander. Occasionaly, driving uphill, 40-50 MPH, the transmission will jump back and fourth from 3rd gear to 4th gear, like it cant make up it's which gear it wants. I can give it gas and make it shift down. Thoughts? I've already replaced the trans solenoid. Maybe a linkage adjustment? help.

p076a dodge journey, won't shift further than 1st gear, goes into PRND just fine. Do I need to replace the whole pack ?! please help, I am desperate, garage quoted me 7k for a rebuild ???

I’m having a issue i believe is related to this however I haven’t gotten a code, my car shutters a ton around 40-45mph I think it’s when it shifts into overdrive, however the cat will be shutter and if I down shift it will cease and drive normally, or if it’s shutter and I let my foot off the gas that helps as well, but no codes and tons of shaking after reaching 40

How many hours in labor do you think this is. I want to replace the whole solenoid pack assembly. Not just the tcc solenoid. I need to do same on my vehicle and am very mechanically inclined with all the possible tools id need

Thanks for the videos. Question for you. I had a P0765 code on a caravan. Went into limp mode a couple times. Bought a new solenoid pack and replaced it without any issues. Old pack was definitely faulty. Did tranmission filter and fluid change and now the vehicle won't stay in 3rd gear. 1st to 2nd shifts fine and once it reaches 3rd gear the vehicle violently stops and its in 1st gear. No codes are being thrown. Fluid levels are good. Not sure what is going on.

Got a little Trans oil on that big trans plug . Is it ok to leave it as is and plug connector back on ?
Or is it ok to Use elctricity part cleaner spray ?
Electric part cleaner can be used on a transmission conector ?

I have a 2013 dodge caravan and whenever I put it in reverse the stick seems to go hard and it gives a very bad click. I got code fluid pressure low code P0868. I checked the trans fuel it was way more than the required level so I took some oil out. I don't have any leakage. Can anyone suggest to me what to do? thanks.

Will a lot of fluid leak out from the top portion when swapping out the solenoid? I've already done the fluid change under and it came 740 code came back on my journey? Curious if a bunch of fluid will dump out when I remove the top pan

I have a 2012 Chrysler town and country.
-sometimes stalls when approaching a stop light / stop sign.
-sometimes has trouble going from sitting still to take off.
- sometimes will not change out of 1st gear. Will take off and get up to 5,000 rpm and does change gears. Even when in manual mode it doesn't do anything. I have to pull over and restart the van. Then it will drive normal.

I have a 04 Jeep Liberty 3.7 L four-by-four automatic, started shifting real hard ,no check engine, I decided to get it scanned and it said most likely solution,Replace torque converter. But at the bottom of the fact-finding page it said , Diagnostic trouble codes po740 TCC OUT OF RANGE, TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUIT, NOW MIND YOU IT'S STILL CHANGING GEARS BUT VERY VERY ROUGH ! What the car use at 80,000 MI now it has 110,000 and the transmission fluid since I've had it never been changed my question QUESTION WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST TACKLING, CHANGING THE TORQUE CONVERTER OR THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUIT and the transmission fluid at the same time or just giving up? Please reply

2017 Grand Caravan here, my flex plate is cracked at 149,500.
Having that replaced, figued while in there I'd have the TSP replaced as well, however i recently was made aware of the TCC, this too should be replaced due to mileage.

If there any of solenoids you'd recommend having switched out while the Solenoid Pack and Flex Plates being done?? 🙏
I'm a state certified foster parent, i need this minivan in top notch condition, i should note that tge transmission fluid and filter was replaced 3 months and 10 thousand miles ago.

I have a 2011 dodge avenger 3.6 and it goes in drive fine and works but won’t move in reverse it feels like it wants but nothing can the be the issue with mine ?? Thanks in advance

08 avenger Acts as if a brake is locked up when on the ground in gear or in netural, the engine will push through it, though its a load. When front wheels jacked up and running in neutral they don't want to turn, shut off the engine and they spin freely. Shifts through gears fine fluid looks smells alright just a constant drag worse when in reverse

I love how you show people who may not be familiar how to install the trans line clips and let them know the plastic clip on the connector may break so don't let it fall in the transmission. Well done. I watched another vid where the guy put the sealant on the cover as the manual probably calls for, but I was like no way I'd do that and neither did you.

I agree with the recommendation here. I just overhauled my family van transmission in my garage. The torque converter and input clutch set are the only parts you need to replace for that P0740. Should you replace the solenoid? That’s up to you. It’s easy enough to check the pin connectors to see if you have a solenoid out of spec.
But from personal experience from completing an overhaul on my 62TE at 164k miles the only parts needing replaced were the torque converter and input clutches. Save your money folks.

Very handy video. Good method for sure. I used to work at Daimler Chrysler ITP 4 plant in Kokomo Indiana where we built this transmission by the thousands. It's an okay transmission as long as you take good care of it and change the fluid and keep it cool. A humble suggestion: consider using acetone instead of alcohol. It dries clean and it is more effective at dissolving gaskets. You can also mix up 50% ATF and 50% acetone and that is a great corrosion remover as a side product.

No need to remove the trans to change the solenoid! I'm getting the Po740/p0740 code. With the solenoid out, could I use a multimeter to verify whether or not the solenoid needs replaced?
