Kids interested in engineering - is it better to take sat or act ?

Hey Brooke, I dont know if you'll ever read this, but I'm currently a highschool student and taking the ACT later on in September. I took a practice test with a composite score of 27-28 (which I assume rounds up to a 28). I'm really good with math, and I got a 32 on that section, and the only reason for this is because of some silly mistakes (which I do ALL the time, I need to break that habit).I got a 30 on the English and a 27 on science (I wasted too much time) but then I did horrible on reading with a 22. My goal is to get to a 35. I hope you see this, because I dont know what to do, reading is terrible for me. I sometimes waste too much time and then also second guess myself.

There is 1 difference, ACT has a writing option, what are your thoughts about this?

The SAT (in my opinion) is an easier test because you get enough time to answer questions. I got a 1400 SAT and a 27 ACT. The math section on my ACT hit me like a brick because I didn’t learn sequences and series, so I had to learn them specifically for the ACT. My best section was science (I think a 31)

I live in Japan and most test takers here stick to SAT- The reason is something will almost definitely go wrong with the ACT. Kids signed up for the ACT but the test center said they weren’t registered in their system even though they’ve been preparing for it for months.

I wish I would've seen this before choosing to prep for the SAT 6 months ago and take it twice. I might have had a better score on the ACT due to the SAT "nuances"

Hi I wonder if you can help me with a question? I want to know my high schools average SAT score, but not sure where I can get the most accurate information from. I know Niche is one place to get it, but is that the most accurate or recent? Also someone told me it is a good idea to put that in my common app if I'm submitting my SAT score. Please advise if you can thank you.

Can you do a video for community college students wanting to transfer to a four-year University? I saw one from a few years ago, but I have a gut feeling that an updated version would be very beneficial, and many of us would greatly appreciate it! Should we bother taking the SAT/ACT when most UC's/CSU's are test blind now and privates are test optional(I wonder if not submitting a score makes you look less competitive). Also, what would a good-looking application look like? An example application would be great going over GPA, extracurricular, well-rounded student vs. focus-based student? I've looked at so many videos and written down all the advice. That said, I've reached a point where I wrote down "TOO" much advice, and now my roadmap is practically a beehive that isn't legible. A quick video clearing things up would be greatly appreciated!

The Act is the better test, but they don't give you enough time to show what you know. Because this, Sat is better.
