As per the discription: Flaps were set at 0 degrees .... is that common practice on a Fokker 100?
Being a wing design without leading edge slats flaps are the only way to create extra lift .....

Ответить13 people died FFS. It never was higher than 20 feet off the ground. The cold contributed to the fragility of the planes body no doubt. -12C is cold cold.

ОтветитьI would image they suffered head and neck injuries as in basilar skull fractures from that hit. Remember the seat belted torso will decel with the aircraft while the head continues forward at the impact velocity. Which rips the brain into the base of the skull. Usually a o- ring shaped fracture at the base of the skull. It’s the reason we have airbags in cars. And in racing we started seat belting our heads with a hans/hybrid/hutch/ or early on after a 1999’ 175g hit i literally used shoe strings briefly. But you can have a Fatal BSF in a 45mph T-Bone crash. People don’t understand. Frontal AB+SideCurtainAB+SeatAB+Headrest = CARS APPEAR SAFER THAN THEY REALLY ARE. With out those airbags. Even with advanced crush zone designs we would still be having tons of fatal crashes.
