It seems that no matter what side I lay on, or how I lay on it, my sciatic pain is the same.
Sometimes, sleeping in a sitting position at a certain angle can help, but not always.
I am hoping to have the intercept procedure in January which should help much of my pain, the question is how to get by with the pain until then.

ОтветитьI have been using these tips for back and side sleeping for years by my own know how. It does help. in fact i cant sleep without my leg or underleg pillow which is a dense extra long or king foam pillow. i believe it was made for pregnant women at the time didnt see any on amazon to help others but firm foam ia way to go imo. also inbetween ill even add under pillow thats soft for extra height when the nerve dmg is really acting up. so thumbs up this video
ОтветитьI'm nearly 80 UK, and have had back problems on and off through lifting heavy objects, since young, it always gets better, but his time it didnt ,6 months now of bad Sciatica I'm quite active even though I have Rheumatoid Arthritis I never learn do I?
Recently the lower back pain resulted in severe back/ Sciatica in my left hip/ leg first thing on getting out of bed which lasted several hours, a bad burning pain., it didnt hurt in bed though apart from a slight backache....... it was addressed by pain pills Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and recently obtained from my doctor GABAPENTIN for.nerve pain.I'm unsure if they do anything apart from drowyiness.!
Anyway after seeing this video I decided to sleep on the left side all night with a pillow between my knees and the Sciatica has been a lot better ,almost NO PAIN when I get out of bed, and bearable stiffness which gradually goes on moving about. so I hope its healing. so pleased
Also I find a hot water bottle very helpful when sitting, also reassuring in bed, resting on my lower back.,I also use an electric heated low volt pad in the chair, back and seat from Amazon, when on PC or Watching Tele its very good indeed, a comforting heat and helps with blood flow to the affected areas.
Try the above for a few days ,it should help .
I hope to drop the Gabapentin ASAP as they do have side effects .nothing serious yet though.

ОтветитьI'm a side sleeper..My sciatica has flared up the past couple of months. Sleeping has been rough. I have to stand and stretch a couple of times a night to send the pain away long enough to get a bit more sleep. I will try these tips tonight. Will keep you all posted.

ОтветитьDr love your videos. All day long i do stretches and mobility exercises however I also wake up every single morning in agony - spasms. I can sleep in any position I like but nothing stops the pain when I wake up and begin to move. Help please?

ОтветитьI’ve had this pain since I was 10 years old. I’ve gone to drs and chiropractors who say since I’m only 24 I need to do PT but I’ve had this for 14 YEARS. It’s 2:42 am and I am in so much pain I can’t sleep my leg goes numb down to my toes I have no reflex in my R leg I just want my life back I want epidural injections this pain is soooo bad

ОтветитьI try to slepping correctly in my be. But I have Just on pilow . I do not slepping with my stomic on the bed. But I slepping in my rigth side tô my boddy its corectly two pillows in my head. But in my roon has one. I got extra with my mom. I am from brazil. This vidios help me all the time.
ОтветитьI have very sever sciatic nerve pain. It's never relieved, no matter what I take or how I position myself sleeping, driving, sitting, etc.... I am a stomach sleeper. Sleeping any other way just irritates me. I also have GERD so all in all, I should be sleeping on my back but I just can't do it 😒 it's so uncomfortable

ОтветитьI used to sleep on my stomach, but no longer. I can only sleep on my side. If I sleep on my back, I immediately wake myself up with some horrible snoring sound in my throat. Anyway, how do you feel about body pillows for side sleepers? I recently got one and it has helped (I think). I'm definitely sleeping better.
ОтветитьI start on my back with a half dome pillow under legs, move to both sides without a pillow as I always kick it out of bed; and somehow wake up on my stomach. I'm like a rotisserie chicken. 😅

ОтветитьI used to sleep on my side full time but as I got older my shoulder started hurting more so I learned how to sleep on my back, when I can't sleep on my back anymore I rolled to my right side and I put couch pillow under my top arm to hold it up so it doesn't hurt my shoulder. this is great I'm only 45 I can't imagine what another 20 years I'm going to have to have eight pillows for each part of my body
