Craziest Blue Dial - Omega Seamaster 'Summer Blue'

Im afraid that i have to buy the summer blue version lol

I love the summer blue collection. I purchased the seamaster 38mm summer blue as more of a dress watch and this will be the next one I purchase. I wanted the ultra deep but no one has it :(

Didn't like this color scheme from the get go, but it's kinda growing on me... That said, it will never replace my Omega seaweed. To me, myself & I, it's the King of all the green watches out there.

Dont like this color. Prefer dark blue (like previous Seamaster) to this baby blue.

I have the PO Summer Blue, and it's a wonderful watch. The dial is stunning, and it wears very well for such a thick and heavy watch. The matching blue hands of the PO just complete the package

I think Omega got the idea for this dial from Oris Aquis Lake Baikal edition 😄.

Omega needs to shrink the SMP down to 41mm, work out bezel-dial proportions, and make it lighter and thinner overall. SMP can't compete with Submariner as an everyday watch because SMP is too heavy, and it kinda wears like a pizza plate. They have PO in the lineup as a heavy duty diver so they should move the SMP towards an everyday, 1-watch collection crowd

This gorgeous dial needs 4k! It's a stunner. Bruce, I take it that the fact that you, a self-described bracelet guy, are wearing this on the strap suggests that you don't love the (non-tapering) bracelet? Real looker either way!

Nice review Bruce! Omega also makes a rubber deployant strap for the Seamaster 300M, which really elevates the wearing experience over the rubber strap they sell the watch on.

With the rubber strap is that interchangeable with the classic Omega five wide bracelet?

I’m confused, didn’t Omega already have a gradient blue line of watches before? How are these any different? Are the other ones discontinued?

The 8900 is over 1mm thicker so the watch would be near 15mm thick. imo im glad they kept it thinner.

Ridiculous to charge a premium for a colour

I think this variation would be even better if the text on the dial would be in the same dark blue as the bezel is. As seen in the video you often cant see the bright text in many viewing angles.

I ultimately chose the standard blue one because of the higher legibility and red accents, but this is a beautfiful watch.

Bruce, thank you! 100% agree with you suggestions. The 8800 movement is outdated and this is the reason I like my AquaTerra more for its 8900 movement which is way better.

i got the 2264.50.00 and the watchdives white dial version of the newer seamaster model

the only thing i heard gripes about the newer omega seamasters is that people want a bigger power reserve and a thinner movement my older one is only 11mm thick

Bought one October last year and wore it a lot since. The dial is just awesome, best blue dial diver so far!

I can't see anyone regretting this purchase. Glorious. That said, if you have the wrist for it, trying on that ultra deep shown here will have you happily debating over two stunners.

What?!? For a 6k watch there shouldn't be anything else but the best bezel action. Anything else is unaccebtable. Also newer purchase watch at this price point with anything but bracelet if available. You can get the rubber strap later.

I agree with you, also the overall case is too thick and bulky , I sold mine the black ceramic seamaster ...to with the last of the aluminium's bezel 2007 with the" red " seamaster....much more slimmer and true classic looks!

Always comes down to one thing, don’t like it, don’t buy it.

I took a very hard look at this one when I was in the Omega boutique in Honolulu a couple of months ago. It's a fantastic looking watch, no doubt about it. Ultimately, I chose the linen dial PO, but this summer blue SMP is fantastic.

Still don't get it why you want 8900 movement (as it is) that much, there are a couple of reasons why i am against it:
1. It will make SMP300 even thicker because the movement is thicker compared to 8800, therefore making it more chunky and people generally don't want that on a SMP300
2. Why do you need a jumping hour hand on a diver watch? Quickset date is a much more practical IMO.

Just because 8900 is more advanced does not mean that it is better, atleast for a SMP300

i had someone at omega tell me that the 8800 despite having less functionality is actually a better made movement than the 8900 for reasons including ceramic ball bearings on the rotor.

I just bought one from the boutique in Honolulu, a couple of hours ago, while on vacation. Your review helped me make the decision. I looked at the Seaweed too, but this one was so much more special. I wish it had the sapphire case back though. Thanks!

The 8900 wouldn’t fit in a SM300 it has the dual barrel wind so it’s bigger.

Looks very similar to the Christopher Ward C60 Tide and the dial on that looks much better in my opinion.

This is terrible. From the cheesy fade job on the dial, to the pinky ring gold hands, to the unreadable words, to the powder blue indicators. So bad.
