My grandfather was one of the allied soldiers who liberated Bergen-Belsen. He said that the inmates were begging to be shot when the Allies arrived. Despite having been at war in North Africa, Italy and from D-Day all the way into fortress Europe, a seasoned soldier who'd seen almost unimaginable horrors, what he experienced in the liberation of Bergen-Belsen haunted him until he died.

My only criticism is you repeat yourself over and over. Some facts only need to be said once. Irma Grease was a 19 year old very young prison guard and she was one of the cruelest of all Nazi Concentration Guards. Irma met her end at the end of the rope and she told her executioners “Schnell” “ Schnell “ Schnell ! meaning hurry up or Quick or get on with it. Irma Grease was 21 when she was hung in 1945.

I served in Germany and was working at Hannover Airport. We lived in Celle and Bergen-Belsen was 10 minutes away. I used to collect signals from the base at Hohne. That base was once home to the SS officers. The Roundhouse was the building they stayed in. Very strange doing my weekly shop, as they had a massive NAAFI.
Visited Bergen-Belsen a few times especially when family/friends came to visit.

There are people who deny the death camps. There are so many films that prove their existence People can be completely brain dead or more than stupid. I actually nursed

My Uncle who fought the Axis in the Tank Destroyer Division 607 th liberated a few camps and said there was 20-foot piles of bodies, he told me he thinks there was more than 9 million Jew who were murdered not 6 million. He said all the Nazis burned all their paperwork before the US and Russian troops got to the camps. He was in charge is Denazification at the end of the war.
