How long should it take for the icemaker to fill the ice bucket? Mine makes ice however, it’s painfully slow and has never filled to the top of bucket.
ОтветитьThank you so so much!! It worked perfectly and super easy!! I was about to pay a lot of money for some expert to fix it…
ОтветитьThis may be an old fix video.. I just want to say thank you as the little spring was the issue and now I have ice again just in time for summer. Amen for people like you and the internet to get to people in need
ОтветитьThat was my exact issue, the spring popped out and was a little iced up
ОтветитьYou are awesome! Thank you! Saved us money!
ОтветитьYup. Spring popped out of place. All better! Thank you!
ОтветитьAwesome 😎
ОтветитьMy wife likes to access ice directly from the bin. Same model but ice goes flying when you pull the tray out. Anyone have the same issue?
ОтветитьFound ice stuck . Thanks for the video
ОтветитьOMG, this was the best I keep having this problem and I get so mad when it is hot and I do not have ice. This was a lifesaver the absolute best. Thank you so much FYI I never comment
ОтветитьOld video but still relevant. You fixed my ice maker. Thanks
ОтветитьWell Done! Even I understood it instantly.
ОтветитьI had to loosen the screw. It did have some ice on it.
Great video.
Inspite of the "crappy" video your narrative was excellent and it helped us understand the problem we were having with the ice maker. We don't have dental tools (or eyesight sufficient) to reseat the spring ourselves but we can call out the service man who dislocated the spring while working on a different issue. So thank you for sharing this information.
ОтветитьThank you for figuring this out for me.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU!!!
ОтветитьMine has done the same thing but the ice is frozen in the tray, what can I do to fix that? Tried to send you a picture of it
ОтветитьTha kyou so darn much for focusing on the little spring. This was the problem for years?!?!?
Even the fridge guy who came out didn't catch it.
I pushed on the paddle I pushed on the paddle in front t of him and asked if it was right!!!!
Dang! Thanks man!!!!
Fixed our issue first thing! It was driving me crazy and I didn't want to blow $200 on a new ice maker assembly for a 12 year old fridge. Thanks for the tip!.
ОтветитьWow thank you bro 3 and half months no ice, thinking we had to get a new refrigerator. My wife thinks I spent half the morning fixing it😂 She said "somebody's going to get there ick sucked when I get home from work "💪❣️ Thanks bro
ОтветитьYou just rock!! I'm looking at ten years of 'thank you' notes - just wanted to add another. Factory reset worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
ОтветитьThank you so much. I didn’t feel secure poking around with a sharp object so I used my blow dryer to melt the stuck ice. I had ordered ice cube trays to tide me over until I could get a repairman out. Thanks to you I won’t need the repairman.
ОтветитьThank you so much. This fixed my ice maker! Even 10 years after uploading this video, you're still helping people :D
Ответить2023 and your video is still saving people time and money. Nicely done!
ОтветитьVery helpful thank you
Ответить10 years later and still a useful video. My spring had popped out and ice maker is making ice for the first time in at least 5 years.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video! I called GE and not only did the person I talked to say nothing about the lever in terms of suggestions for fixing my ice maker, but she said a service call would cost $115 plus parts and labor. This was such a quick and easy fix and I'm so grateful.
Ответить2/5/24.....Thank you digitalP ! Your 4 minute video helped me solve my ice maker problem too here in 2024. A small ice chip had dislodged the spring from its mount. As recommended, I used a "dental pick w/ hook end" to grab the vertical spring end, pull the spring towards the front of the freezer, and "re-seat" the spring end in the tiny hole as you indicated. The ice paddle switch now "springs forward" again, as shown in your video. Thanks again.
ОтветитьVery easy to remove the ice maker which makes the spring fix very easy.
ОтветитьNice video, awesome tool
Ответитьthank you so much you are the only one who told me about the spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьI’m back again!! Thank you SO much!
ОтветитьThank you! You’re the man just did it for my dad’s ice maker. Awesome you were a great help!!! God bless
ОтветитьThank you!
Ответитьthe lever on mine is in the "off" position, I cannot pull it forward, The on/off switch doesn't seem to do anything.
Ответить2024 and this worked
ОтветитьThis worked for me, thanks for the video! I thought I had to replace the ice maker! When I put the spring back in place, the fridge filled the tray and water overflowed and dripped down. Probably because it didn’t push out the ice that was in there. But the next morning, I have ice!
ОтветитьMy icemaker drips water and freezes every time it runs right in that gap you pointed out, right where the lever sits. How can I stop that?? I have to manually clear it multiple times a day for a full ice tray 😅
ОтветитьThank you! My ice maker stopped working. I pulled out the bin and saw the lever. 3 icecubes were frozen on the lever; so the lever could not move and spring back and forth. I lifted the icecubes off the lever and the lever is now snappy like yours. Did a reset as you explained. I am waiting for the cubes !! Yay!
ОтветитьI am never again buying a GE refrigerator. They're badly designed and break too easily.
ОтветитьJust fixed mine thanks to you!!!! Thank you
ОтветитьNo sirvió para mi ! 😌
ОтветитьYou're the man! I thawed it out completely with a hair blow dryer, because I have had some water lines freeze up in some freezers that were too cold. But that wasn't the problem this time. It was the spring. I did the reset, we are good to go!
ОтветитьYes, mine the same thing was exactly what you said wow i was thinking to buy ice maker and you just saved my life and my coffee time afternoon, i so miss my iced coffee you are life saver
Ответитьyour video was extremely helpful, easy to understand, and allows me to fix it myself. THANK YOU!!!
ОтветитьThis fixed my ice maker, thank you!!!!
ОтветитьSo happy you made this straight forward easy to understand video. I knew about the spring lever but not about the reset which was the fix I needed. My ice maker is deep inside the bottom drawer of my refrigerator/freezer impossible to see but after watching the video I found the on/off rocker switch by feel alone and reset. Thank you!
ОтветитьSo simple. It works again!
ОтветитьThanks for the video, solved the problem for me. Mine is a little different. No power switch, or status light. Just an on/off slider lever above the swing arm. It doesn't have a visible spring either. I just needed to reset it, using your method of pushing arm in 3 times. Without the power Toggle, I unplugged the power connection that sits to the right, above the ice bucket. Then, did the reset and it finally started working again! A little different, in my case, it got me to the fix anyway. Crazy, they have no mention of this in the user guide...
Thanks again
Thank you my brother!
