Ferrari 488 Pista - quicker than a McLaren P1? | evo LEADERBOARD

Sounds like shit although looks like a maniac!

The Pista is an absolutely fantastic car that deserves to be up there with the best of them, no doubt. But I seriously have trouble believing that it's objectively faster around a/this track than a P1. The P1 weighs almost the same, with a better power to weight ratio, has a more modern chassis, produces more downforce, and has hybrid assistance for a wider torque cruve and better torque vectoring. I just simply can't fathom the Pista being faster on the same tyres. Ferrari would surely need literal magic. The computers on-board the Pista are certainly amazing, but I can't see how that would make up the difference. I know the P1 was tested on worse tyres, but also maybe the P1 just doesn't suit the driving style of the guys at Evo? Not hating, because these guys are good drivers, but maybe the P1 is a bit more 'particular'?

I still prefer the P1 which is an old car now

such a shame these journalists have to lick the manufacturer's asses clean to make sure they get to drive the next car. gone are the days of true journalism.

I'd rather go slow feel the raw power and sound of a 458 spider over a pista. After all ,most people aren't driving these cars on tracks if that was the case okay go with the p-stop but if you're driving it on the streets the 458 is much more engaging and fun.Even a Lamborghini huracan is more fun than this thing The sound the drama. I never owned forced induction cars before but they are so boring compared to naturally aspirated engines

How could it be quicker than a P1 it's not even faster than a 720S.most people drive and race straight line on the street I'm not talking about track That's a different story.I'd rather have straight line performance since I don't track the cars and when someone pulls me up to me in a Ferrari I'd love to smoke them in the 720

To all the people arguing about the 0.2 seconds faster or slower, you know that at Ferrari they know that generally their road-going cars are not the Fastest (NOT MY WORDS, but Ferrari's manager in Maranello ones) but they don't care right? Ferrari sells so much more, that the other can't. Design, heritage, driving experience. It is a proper dream lifestyle, for those who like it. And not everybody does of course, but for those who do like it, Ferrari is the best anyway. Period.
And let's pretend we don't know that all the people arguing here wouldn't even have enough skill to use that potential at its best, making this complaining even more pointless. lol

Don't know why he releasees the steering wheel while he is changing of gear. Paddle shifts were designed long enough so u don't have to release the steering wheel.🤔

Can you please get a F8 Tributo on to compare. Apparently, it has 10% more down than the Pista. Also, keeping the Ferrari vs McLaren is a great comparison.

Ferrari 488 Pista, Porsche GT3 RS, Mini Cooper S, Range Rover Vogue, Audi RS6, S600 Maybach. Ahhh

Seems like you lose some time in two corners because you hit the gas too early, lift off and hit the gas again. Looks like the mid corner speed is too low so you push it into understeer trying to make up for that.

I wish that there was a reviewer review video...give Steve Sutcliffe, Jethro Bovingdon and Chris Harris the same 488 Pista and see who gets the best lap time at Anglesey, Big Willow and Laguna Seca.

This is insane, especially considering that it’s not even a “perfect” lap (went too wide at 39 seconds in, for example). Nonetheless, great driver and phenomenal car.
