I use Manjaro as icons and wallpapers, and that's far I would go.

I have used linux before (Mostly Ubuntu) and wanted to install it on my x1 Carbon gen 6. So, I did but, the fan was running loud, all the time. (Bottom of the laptop was still hot) Tried searching and trying a ton of different things to fix it. (Nothing worked). I'm used to the fan constantly revving up and the bottom of my laptop being toasty since I'm currently running Windows 11. I then decided to give Manjaro KDE a try as a live boot.

I figured it was going to be just like every other linux distro I tried. So, it started up and the first thing I noticed was the fan was a 0 rpm! I thought it's probably another driver / software issue and it was going to be a miracle if I get it fixed. Started up Firefox with about 6 tabs....no fan spin. The next thing I notices is, the bottom of my laptop isn't hot anymore!

At that point I was wondering, why are things running so good and the fans don't even need to turn on?! (Fan was at 0 and bottom of my laptop not even warm). I did run a stress test in Manjaro and yes, the fan finally kicked on when I tested the cpu so, I know its functioning properly. I'm amazed at how well Manjaro works! Idk why Ubuntu 24.04 can't even manage that! (And it was just standard Gnome).

Of all the things I tried (Suse/Ubuntu/ Red hat/ linux mint / Debian etc etc) this was the only one that actually makes my laptop function like it should. It boggles my mind. Definitely switching over to Manjaro!

I love the look of manjaro and want to try it, but is it still more unstable than normal Arch?????

This is a very irresponsible assessment. You encourage newbies to download from the AUR (using pamac, no less!) But Manjaro libraries and Arch libraries will not be in sync and may cause issues. Even if they do work, failure to poperly vet and expertly evaluate AUR packages often leads to problems. Every update is a potential disaster.
Moreover, the Manjaro team has a history of releasing buggy software (including pamac). Many Linux users are very suspicious of Manjaro and will not use it.
If youre a newbie looking to avoid technical issues, than run Mint. If you're an expert, than run Arch or maybe Endeavor. Manjaro just isn't a good idea.

My computer: i6300U, 8GB ram, 256 SSD GPT, current Manjaro x64 cinnamon (ext4) and Garuda Cinnamon (ext4) problems:
- FeatherNotes 1.1.1 did not open old files - after uninstalling and compiling with git the problem disappeared - the program worked;
- external 500gb ntfs hdd drive on usb sometimes had "some" error and inability to mount the device
- Virt-Manager from qemu had a lot of difficulty running new and old VMs on qcow2 locally;
- LMDE 6 does not have the above problems.

You talk like you try to convince me. I'm also interesting about Pop OS and Zorin OS. It's hard to chose a distro. Especially if you are still on windows.

I am trying manjaro (mate) on a vbox virtual machine.

Manjaro is just too clumsy for me, I decided to give it a try again after watching your video. Tried to configure Thunderbird Mail, doesn't configure Google Enterprise accounts, tried Geary it doesn't configure, finally installed a snap *(really complicated process) and Mailspring installed, snaps and key-ring are a mess it freezes all the time. after 1 hour playing around I like the visuals but it's way too buggy for my taste, I stick to Debian or even Ubuntu, thanks for the video anyway

Manjaro XFCE is giving me the absolute best gaming performance I have had in all of my testing.
Using an i7-7700 with a 2070 Super and 16gb RAM.

Seems to be good in all directions. But external drive with ntfs-3g don't work. Updates make me stress cause always want from me restart aka Windows. Useful software is not always here. Even you use AUR it can be not installed. I think a good linux distro must be install SW/HW drivers without need of restart. Sorry but 99% softwares are available for Ubuntu derivates.

I got a new SSD and decided to try Manjaro. I had been using Ubuntu w/Gnome for years. I was hesitant to move because of compatibility and stability issues but my installation went smoothly and all the drivers I needed were installed. I even decided to give Plasma a try and now I’m liking it more than Gnome! Also great video! 👏

Don't use it unless you know how to properly use Pacman or the AUR. Manjaro is not a beginner's operating system.

Manjaro Gnome is my favorite distro ever. Manjaro team takes a desktop and makes it better in everyway!

The reply I got on the Manjaro forum was if it is from GTK DE to GTK DE/QT to QT it will be ok, but if it is GTK > QT or the other way it will cause issues.

I was tempted to use the GNOME version, but I've been using GNOME for a long time so I gave Plasma another go. Never used Plasma that extensively but I found my workflow

Manjaro is the the distro that made me finally switch from Windows to Linux. It really has good default looks and settings. Now I'm using MX Linux 23 though with KDE Plasma. It's Debian-based making it a very stable OS. I feel I'll be using this particular distro for a while as it meets and exceeds all my current needs from an OS. 💪

The last time I used manjaro, I had all sorts of stability issues with updates, even though I didn't use the AUR. It would barely last 3 months before the system would crash and couldn't be booted. Really left a bad taste.

But really, I only came here because it's called "Uranos" 😂🤣, still the butt of jokes.
