How to easily defeat the alchemist boss in Noita

Ok so im dumb, i picked up some other fireball modifier (icon looks the same) and thought it's that one (nope). i had just 14hp until i reached the alchemist and then my fireball thrower fails :D
im escaping like crazy to the surface, he follows me, then i just kite him while keeping the distance with my other wand, and.. i killed him normally without any damage on first attempt. i was lucky to find a good wand tho

Do you know any seeds with personal fireball thrower easily available?

Me fibdi g literally anything in this game, "Ah ha! I could use this to kill the bosses!" Dies to my boss killer method.

I think they might have patched this out by now, I had no luck with this strat today unfortunately :( great guide tho!

I killed the Alchemist first time with Fireball Thrower today! Are spells unlocked even If I don't see the Alchemist at the progression? He did drop the Greek spells and the full heal.

I tried this and the fireball thrower just wouldn't cast. I assume because he instantly put his shield up.

Is it patched? I tried it, and for some reason, the fireballs never seemed to actually damaged him

I defeated him for the first time in the same way I beat almost every boss for the first time.

🤣 At the start of my run I found a wand with personal gravity field on cast.

... Ok so technically most of them killed themselves but I'm sure I did like 200 damage here and there.

Tons of people are saying this doesn’t work. I just tried it under an hour ago - my wand had always cast personal fireball thrower and a spark bolt. One shot. Make sure your spell is the personal fireball thrower specifically (there’s two fireball thrower spells), make sure you hit it when the shield is down, and you’re good.

I don't think this works any more. I tried it today and after a few minutes, he barely lost any health.

I remembered this way of killing Ylialkemisti a few days ago, so I tried it again, and it didn't work (anymore?). I did this at least once in the past and succeeded. This time the high alchemist did spawn fireballs as intended, but the effect ended relatively fast, and it did almost no dmg. I then applied the effect a couple more times before I died coming out of my small hiding hole. But I can't say for sure if I had any modifiers that would negate the dmg. Is it confirmed that this still works?

Uh, I just tried this as well, didn't work. He doesn't spawn any fireballs.

Sry for the stupid question but , how did the boss died ? Did worms killed him ?

What is it about the fireball thrower that makes this work? Is he taking splash damage from fireballs hitting walls as he chases?

It's a bit dangerous, but I've found that plasma beam orbit on one of the cloud spells (toxic mist, slime mist, etc..), on a spark bolt trigger will kill him almost instantly with a single shot. Your way is certainly simpler - I've been dismissing the personal thrower spells far too much.

I don't think this works anymore. Tried this method by shooting him with sparkbolt + personal fireball thrower, and although he does spit fireballs everywhere he takes no damage from them.

I usually kill alchemist with a luminous drill with tigger + chain bolt. It usually does funky stuff with his shield and he ends up game ending himself lul

Was on one of my best runs so i challenged the alch and was winning easily but then all of a sudden a spell lock wiz came into the arena and sniped me across the screen then i got lighting stun water tripple explosion deluxed by alch and was the first time i had raged at noita since buying the game hahahaha

I just killed it instantly with a homing 3x homing crystal with explosive projectile. I was surprised it worked so well.

I had my first alchemy attempt earlier today. i had a good wand but it looked like it was ineffective with his shields, so i tried some other stuff i had on my other wands..
On of this just happened to be personal fireball thrower.. i even hit him with it multiple times and waited for longer than you did... he took basically 0 damage. i hiked back a little more to check something, and when i returned, he had dug a hole straight through the mountain and was gone.. he didnt die..

So im not sure why my firebal thrower thing did absolutely nothing... shame. I dont have many good runs yet (still "new"), but i guess i'll give it another go if i ever have a good alpha strike wand. the wand i made for my first normal win would probably make short work of him if i dont hit his shield

When I tried this, I hit him with the personal fireball thrower then went to the surface to wait it out. When the music stopped I went back down but all I found was a freshly dug out shaft leading down from the center of his arena, and a second longer shaft leading to the left and slightly up through the Extremely dense rock. No sign of him or his drops. I dug out both areas extensively but still found nothing. I'm thinking the last thing he cast was "Skem Suprem" hehe.

My favorite way used to be drowning him by flooding his chamber.

I always just do a 2-3 red crystal with homing on it, usually one shot him

Sadly it didn't work for me, the alchemist didn't take any damage. At least I still managed to defeat him :)

I've already killed this boss but wanted to try this method, it didnt work for me. Seems pretty simple so I dont think I did anything wrong. He survived the entire first personal fireball thrower and I shot him again and he still lived.

I kill the dessert boss first then get nolla go back to a holy mountain, take whatever explosive spells i have and put them on a trigger. Kaboom

Does this method permanently unlock greek spells even though he killed himself?

So no clue what happened, i got him with personal fireball thrower and it seemed like he wasn't taking damage. Resorted to trying to kill him the normal way until I was dead and found out he reflected my spells to me...

Could you explain please why that spell kills him? He maybe use the same spells and damage himself?

i found 5 plasmacross on a wand in lvl1 , some enemy pickup this wand and instakill them self, i want to know, would the alchemist take this wand?

I'm sorry, but you didn't really explain the situation. You need to tell us why we should shoot him only once with the personal fireball spell

RNG aligned and I was able to attempt this method, and he took no damage from the fireballs. I assume this works by the fireballs detonating on his shield from the inside and quickly depleting his health. Am I missing something here?

This all assumes you have an easy way over the tree

Noita reminds me of some crazy isekai shit. The fact there are so many reactions. Being a game, its hard to say this or that is unfair. But in reality things like this make so much sense its comical.

Ive found so many untterly broken wands, most kill me. Then its like damn, yesh that makes sense i guess. And it does. I love this kind of stuff.

well, i tried that and it worked perfectly, leading to a first 10h+ run with many parallel worlds and unlocks. greek letters are indeed gamechangers, lol. i actually died to poly and kinda lazy to start a new run again tho..

Master of masters has 3 eyes on his robe. Could he be possibly related to the eyes puzzle?

When i was adventuring I got hit by a personal fireball thrower wand by a random enemy who picked up a wand.
It was horrible, if i landed then the fireballs would hit the ground and harm me and i didnt have any way of staying afloat so I eventually just got exploded to death, it lasted so long.

How does it exactly work from game perspective?
Does he have like... bind to his boss arena and if he leaves it he dies? Or is he just timed after triggering?

gonna need an explanation on this one. Is it some kind of jank with his shield catching the fireballs and hitting himself or just raw explosive damage over time?

I'd be interested to see how you compare the difficulty of this to going to sky shop. I guess maybe it just comes down to whether you find teleport bolt or personal fireball thrower first.

If you have a teleport or recoil spell you can actually go to gold and then get to the sky shop to buy greeks letter spell by just staying on the edge of the cloudscape and going up

yeah, I had the statue guy kick the alchemist to death once. that was funny
