What’s your favorite low-light trick? Let me and the viewers know and share your expertise! None of us are as smart as all of us!
ОтветитьA 15K lens is so stupid sharp that the noise not even bother me anymore. 😒
ОтветитьI know that you are doing wild life photography but you also make those movies. Could you explain in your way more about making movies? slog etc.? Again I know that this might not be your thing but I love the way you explain things and make them simple. Thank you.
ОтветитьDear Simon, very nice and quite educative. Thx.
ОтветитьYou explain so well !!
I've already learned so much in the few videos I have watched, so thank you very much. This is incredible content and your pictures are great :)
Lost. Please explain shutter speed. What is long shutter speed?
ОтветитьThank you so much man
ОтветитьFantastic video thank you
ОтветитьAs an amateur photographer I would pay for information like this. This is exactly what I have been looking for.
ОтветитьI’ve always believed that spending the money on a good glass rather than the camera is is the best strategy for taking amazing photos.
ОтветитьThank you very much.i enjoyed many of yr videos while practicing english hearing.u r a nice lecturer too
ОтветитьHi Simon, after a long photography break (due to no more inspiration) I am coming back and I am going throuhg all the basics again, haha. with the grey winter sky, you know that the lighting is not very good and I struggled getting a good image. I forgot about this one and it is a great reminder! (I forgot so much of these simple basics and I don't mind at all going through it all one more time. :) Thank you so much! :)
ОтветитьMy NIGGA SEEMONDANTRAMOAAWN!!!

ОтветитьI'm not a professional photographer, but I like taking pictures specially since my twins granddaughters Born and I so far the best picture I took was in a day that the ☀️ was out and about.. we just had the Brightes fall this year.. I some took a picture right before noon sure that I was going to have to manipulate the shadows , but I think it was because I was laying flat on the grass when I saw the girls running with beautiful big leaves.. and one of the pictures came Amazing even with such strong backlight.. I learned is hard to take a bad picture of a great moment ❤
ОтветитьI need help! I got my first camera, a Nikon D80, and I can't get the f.stop to go lower than 4.8! Any suggestions?
ОтветитьSquarespace is even here 😭 The more I see these ads the more I want to be far from service / brand.
It’s in every channel out there. So annoying …
80-90% of my photography is underwater in the Pacific North West (Nanaimo Canada). We have low light, Use strobes (flash). Everything is moving, and are on a time line. Often we have particles in the water we are trying to not capture. Another issue is the need to shoot at shutter speeds around 1/200th of a second due to flash sync speed and an aperture of 11 or higher due to the dome port projecting a curved image. My most common settings are shutter 1/200th, F11-f13, ISO 100-1600 (Sony a7iii with 16-35mm f4 lens or 90mm f2.8 macro, and then use a focus light so the camera will still focus and 2 high powered strobes far enough away from the subject to create an even light source and at the correct angle so that I am not creating back scatter with the particles in the water. I have yet to try a tripod due to protection the ecosystem. Some people use high powered video lights but I find that strobes freeze the action better and I can get closer to the subjects.
Underwater photography is a bit different with a couple different requirements but the theory of getting more light onto the sensor holds true.
great video yet again , thank you for the info .
question , how do you know where the Milky Way galaxy will be aligned behind a subject ? there is some web page for that ? , to get that info in real time about the location of the Milky Way ? .
I imagine the you know more or less the possible location in certain parts of the year, since you take many photos of it .
but for me will be very helpful , same as the rest of the info you alway give
last question , in a city is imposible to get a photo of the Milky Way I think ? or there is some trick to get a building , lest say not in the most lighted part of a city , and some sky in the back , its possible , or there is no way that can be done ? .
I am living in Rome right now , the info will be very very helpful : )
pd ; sorry for my English , is not my first language .
His photos are so good, his “noise” just looks like natural film grain
ОтветитьI’m about to take some proposal pictures in Leavenworth on Friday with my a7iv with a 28-74 2.8 any tips? First time ever doing proposal, plans to stay around 1/30th
ОтветитьThis was excellent, coupled with the ISO and even some simple Lightroom tips. I shot with auto ISO for years without knowing, adjusting it and wondering why i still had so much noise. Lately I'm just struggling with these pieces you pointed out here and experimenting with flash (which is still hit or miss, trial and error). Utilizing noise to create a naturally vintage image can work and in some cases, adding grain or keeping noise actually looks pretty cool. I think the shutter speed tends to be the most critical in many circumstances as I've found I'll compensate a bit on F stop and find things to be blurry later. Can't edit that out.
ОтветитьWhat about a bigger sensor?? is that analogous of 'larger aperture'?
ОтветитьThanks for the excellent video!
ОтветитьI have so much respect for this guy
ОтветитьYou are the best
ОтветитьNice video but terrible ads to square space. Once you started the 2nd ad I quit the video.
ОтветитьMy Canon 80D hates high iso.
ОтветитьI hate the light in winter
ОтветитьWhat if you a event photographer and it’s low light any tips
Ответитьso happy to find your channel! Thank you for providing so many great tips.
ОтветитьGREAT EXPLAINATION!A PERSON CAN UNDERSTAND WITHOUT ANY CONFUSION,GREAT CLARITY SIR,THANK YOU
ОтветитьThank you for the tips.. have you ever taken the large formatted photo down a few sizes, not by cropping but from say 16000x9000 down to 8000x4500?
ОтветитьAwesome content, love the style
ОтветитьLove your videos. Can you do a Pro Photographer with crappy camera and lens (your challenge) vs newbie with an expensive camera and lens to show your techniques to try to win the competiton. Say a 30$ ebay digital camera vs. your best camera and lens.
Ответитьtoo good
ОтветитьHello mr. d'Entremont, im just starting photography for a couple of months and i gotta say im already a fan your work and lessons. You explain things very well and and not over complicate things with terminology. Appreciate how you even throw in some information on what you did and give examples of what you're talking about. Just wanna say thanks
ОтветитьGreatly explained the way to use the light.
ОтветитьWhen photographing a concert or event, unfortunately, a long shutter speed is not possible, as the subject will be blurred. You can't use a flash, and if you don't have a bright lens, i.e. 3.5-4F, then what can be given? If there is a solution for this, I would be happy to hear it. Greetings from Hungary, a concert photographer.
ОтветитьThank you .
ОтветитьWhat about taking photos of dancers in a theater presentation? I had this issue as you cannot use flash or control the lighting, you cannot line them up, they are moving really fast and you have to use shutter speed of 1/1000 in order for o freeze the movement and you can only use the 50mm lens at 1.8 because the zoom lense is useless as the image is too dark and even increasing the iso isn’t helping. Pls help. I have a Canon 6D Mark II.
Ответитьgood v nice my dear bro
ОтветитьA tip for amateurs I had to figure out by myself: I mostly use aperture mode with auto ISO when walking around taking pics. I noticed it would use a minimum shutter speed of 1/60 and keep raising ISO. After I set the minimum shutter speed to 1/15 it would go down to that instead of raising ISO. Cons are, if you're shooting moving subjects they'll blur out, but for anything else its pretty convenient.
ОтветитьWow your milky way and sunflower image is amazing ❤
Ответитьbeen looking at your videos lately..haven't seen them all yet but i haven't seen any about using filters.. so maybe you don't use them...anyways..your vids are just great..ty
Ответить6D mark 1 is the best low light camera.
ОтветитьWhat about moving subjects where you don't have time to compose or set up shot
