I think that of all science fiction vessels, the Cygnus feels like it had the most mass and presence.. It just seems far larger than the Death Star or the USS Enterprise or anything else . It just seems enormous somehow.
ОтветитьIronically, Maximilian Schell ends up in Maximilian's shell.
ОтветитьI think Reinhardt crested Maximilian in order to oversee his work, such to the point where no human compassion could interfere. Reinhardt knew that even he was capable of letting his emotions get in the way. He needed a creation of pure evil to see everything through.
ОтветитьIt was great, but it shoudve been a tv series
ОтветитьI swear to god the sequence of the Cygnus breaking apart with no music was just nerve racking
ОтветитьAdeptus Mechanicus: "Where did you say you obtained this ship, Reinhardt?"
ОтветитьI was very disappointed in this movie. There was a lot of good in it, but it was sloppy; for example, the wires moving the robots around were so clearly visible that they should have just used ropes! If George Lucas could successfully hide his control wires, then Disney should have too. The cast was strong and the music was superb. "The Black Hole" is a watchable movie, but it should have been better.
ОтветитьThis a movies that will never get a remake. Im fine with that. Its a classic i dont want them to ruin.
ОтветитьThe black hole really was
ОтветитьI would like to bet that the writers got inspiration from 20,000 Leagues under the Sea people bought a mysterious ship when they confronted by the captain they are forced to stay on board The captain is crazy and does bad things for the sake of science it’s just a 20,000 Leagues under the Sea rip-off
ОтветитьCygnus was the name of the star getting sucked into the first black hole Science discovered.
ОтветитьAnd they said they did 2 shot angles before it exploded and water got everywhere and couldn't film it no more.
ОтветитьBecause it the black hole itself was shot in a huge tank of plexiglass and paint colors to create the vortex in the center with very bright lights to intensify the colors of gas and matter glowing bright hot as it swirls into the black hole.
ОтветитьNobody knows this but the black hole in the movie towards the end of the film shows it swirling in bright red orange and brown and black colors.
ОтветитьThat is one dead ship.
ОтветитьThe parts of the Cygnus exploding were some of the best-looking space explosions for a very long time. It's a shame Disney didn't pay as much attention to the SCRIPT WRITING as to the special effects.
ОтветитьAlright lads. I’ve got a great idea. How about we fly this right big spaceship that has as much structural integrity as a sheet of tinfoil into a black hole. Who’s with me?
ОтветитьSuperfortress

Cool 🎨
ОтветитьI love how the $249 Walmart smart TV falls on the commander and pins him.
ОтветитьMONEY
ОтветитьSaw it in theaters when I was ten. Hell was a real place to me back then, and I found the ending terrifying. Thanks for the upload, of all the flaws of this film, spectacular (if fantastic) production design is one of its stronger suits.
ОтветитьBe cool if a xenomorph was aboard.
ОтветитьYou have 5o be a special kind of mentaly ill Horry if u want to go trough a black hole
ОтветитьLol, a robot called ‘Maxi-Millions’.
Ответитьwhen I was youngman ....
ОтветитьLooks like a trading room at Goldman Sachs
ОтветитьWhen you mount your screen straight into the drywall
ОтветитьI remember having the cassette and book combo. I would turn the pages over and over and over then restart again.
ОтветитьInsane or a legend?
Ответитьthe professors clothing looks like it was tailored made he looks sharp wearing it
ОтветитьKeep in mind this movie had concepts not only like black holes, but the white hole at the end from which they emerge. This was at a time when guys like Stephen Hawking were still debating if black holes were real or not.
ОтветитьTime flies. I was in 6th grade when this movie released. We still have the novel too. I read there was a remake/reboot in the works, but it seems that it has never finished & that the Interstellar movie kinda helped keep that script "adrift" into that black hole called script development hell. But I hope there will be a remake in the future, as long as it's all done properly, of course.
ОтветитьI love the look of the titular black hole in this film.
It's not realistic, but it's real pretty!
Damals haben sie es drauf gehabt . Haben sich viel Mühe gegeben . Film, Effekte, Schauspieler. Nicht wahr Maximilian. Toll gemacht. Und ein fantastischer Mr. Schell in seiner besten Rolle. Geil.
ОтветитьI love the old school special effects, but the science was just so, so bad. Even the Cygnus turning into the Black Hole to enter it, would in fact cause it to miss entering it, though it would likely be torn apart by tidal forces. Even in the 70's they knew what a retrofire burn was, for getting out of a orbit.
ОтветитьOh, man, imagine if black holes were actually portals to Hell like this movie shows.
ОтветитьI love the music
Ответитьwhatever you say ...but the visuals for the black hole were amazing for that time! I love the whole feel of this movie!
ОтветитьI forget what happened exactly, was there too much damage to the Cygnus from the crash and the meteor swarm? Or did Dr. Reinhardt simply underestimate the black holes power and it overloaded his anti-gravity generator causing it to fail?
ОтветитьWhat amazed me about this film was the level of detail that went into it. If you look closely at the control panels for instance you can see that they're not just static, many of them have moving instrumentation and independent lights that flash and blink on their own, unlike in many movies what they all flash together. It shows that the set designers spent a lot of time ensuring things were authentic looking as possible. Given that this was just a kids movie it's really impressive that they went to such lengths!!
ОтветитьWell, if Ernest didn't take off in the Palamino in the first place none of this would've happened!
ОтветитьI remember watching this when I was young. I thought it was the coolest shit I've ever seen. I'm 47 now and I still think it was a great movie for the time.
ОтветитьLook at the size of that Vessel!!!
ОтветитьThe black hole does have an end, it's a white hole and it repels instead of pulls.
ОтветитьIt's like they had a list of star wars wars visual elements..holographic displays, huge ships, laser battles, even a death star like warm up firing scene..
ОтветитьStill one of my very favorite movie spaceships of all time, and Maximillian is the coolest robot ever.
