DO NARCISSISTS EVER FEEL GUILTY? The Difference Between Shame and Guilt

You can feel sorry, apologetic, regretful without feeling guilty. I don't feel guilty about things I do by accident or with good intentions. If I did something intentionally to hurt or harm and then feel sorry, apologetic, regretful aftwards, then, as a healthy non-narc, guilt comes along to help me feel icky enough to confirm that it was WRONG and help me to not do it again and/or that I shouldn't have done it in the first place. Bumping into someone or knocking over a cake by accident are not two things I would teach my kids to feel guilty about. Accidents happen. Account for it and move on.

The CovNarc mother went next level and filed a CRIMINAL complaint alleging my late husband and I of SA of her daughter ..She has fabricated a malacious lie that has extreme consequences . She filed a civil complaint , first (2 restraining orders on the father and exboyfriend) both were thrown out by the judge. Seeing that didnt work she now targeted the supporters of the father my late husband and I bc he lives in a cabin on our farm. Now she is saying we abused her daughter and the father knew and did nothing …. She filed this when she learned we paid for a lawyer for the father so he could legally get visitation. Now she is trying to take us down. She did this a day after my husband collapsed at home and died from a heart attack. This woman is black hearted and an evil demonic entity housed in a human body. I actually feel like I hate her and her new psychopath boyfriend. I have never hated anyone in my life.

They don’t feel any guilt or at least express guilt in compassionate care when they injure a partner in a serious physical way . They can’t wait to get away from you so they don’t have to deal with your medical crisis originating from what they did , as that , according to them , was just an “accident “

This makes sense I asked him a basic questions of what he thought his flaws are and he knew all of them like it just kept going he had a lot of things he felt bad about to the point I had to end the conversation because it was getting depressing

I've been with my covert narc for over 12 yrs. He is a classic case, in my opinion. However, in his defense, he had a very dysfunctional childhood. His stepfather continually judged, criticized, physically abused, and shamed him, while his mother totally enabled him. His stepdad was a viscious narcissist who was raised by an equally abusive mother! Yikes! Currently, my narc's feelings of shame are so deep that he can't see or talk about them. I've suggested counseling, but you can imagine his response to that! Your videos always hit the target on so many levels. But this one in particular was very thought provoking. And while it doesn't excuse his behavior, it does give me more insight and compassion towards him. Thanx Ms. Mirror for all your time and effort.

It occurs to me now that anytime I left someone, due to their crappy behavior, I always got a guilt trip from them- even years after the fact- despite the fact that these very same people would never feel a moment of guilt for having mistreated me.

Yes. Exactly. Horrific. They go insane rage attack if they 'perceive' the SLIGHTEST criticism, and yet, and yet, what would be hilarious if it didn't ruin everyone's lives, they spend their entire time dishing out nothing BUT criticism. Criticism of you, and of everyone else, except them.

One of your videos I saw where you did a skit or roleplay, you should totally do more! I was thinking the other day it would be funny to make my own skits because even though it's a serious topic, there have been times where he acts so ridiculous that it would actually make a good comedy skit. I've cried Too Many Tears along the way but there are times were it is so ridiculous where I would just start cracking up the way he was behaving

I love your videos! You and I would totally get along I love your personality. I truly believe that since narcissism is on a spectrum all the way to malignant narcissism, since it's on a spectrum I do believe it varies.
